What if a company just said 'buy our shit' in an advertisement?

Instead of showcasing anything about their products thats all they say just 'buy our shit.'

It'd get a lot of attention, so if brand awareness was low it might be somewhat effective.

But good marketing is aspirational, not informational. Good marketing shows or reflects your ideal self. It makes consumers believe that the only thing separating me from the person I want to be is the fact that I don't own this thing. So this type of advertisement probably wouldn't be too effective.

Well for one thing they couldn't have that ad slogan on broadcast TV because of FCC rules. And most print media wouldn't run that slogan either. So by using that slogan the company would shoot itself in the foot in trying to reach a mass audience.
