Why are there so many songs about California that make it sound like the most awesome place on Earth?

I. KNOW. I don't even like California, haha. I'd never want to live there. There are always those states whose residents have an overwhelming amount of state pride, overwhelming in the sense that it's like this pomposity directed at the rest of the country, hahaha. And California is one of those states. I fail to see what's so amazing about it.

I feel the same way about Oregon that so many people from California feel about their state though. I'm just less in your face about it, unless it's relevant like in a post like this. Plus who's going to get excited and agree with me? Hahaha, it's more like, "Oregon? Where's that?" Ummm, right above California, which ISN'T THAT GREAT, by the way. =P That's how I feel, haha.

Definitely. Plus Portland and Seattle are some of the best/my favorite cities in the US. The whole vibe and mentality are drastically different from any other cities I've ever been to. LA? F.uck LA. San Francisco is the only city in California that I feel even compares to Portland or Seattle.

Maybe I'm just being stereotypical though and talking s.hit, haha. Hatin on California/Californians is a pretty common attitude for Oregonians, lololol. Usually in jest. But really.

LA is for Beaners. I like the bay area, but only when I'm hanging out with poor people. Rich people annoy me for the most part.

Hahaha, I'm with you on the rich/poor bit. The mentality is so much different. I don't spend a whole lot of time in Seattle, but things are definitely that way in Portland. I'm not going to waste my time in ritzy areas with snobby college kids draining their parents' bank accounts. I'm going to be downtown or wandering the interesting and hidden, lesser known areas, and spending time with people from all walks of life, people with character and personality.

It's one of those places where people are really proud that they are from there. Like people from Chicago, or New York they love to tell you about how awesome it is there, and how much better it is than the rest of the US.

Beaches, snow, legal medical weed, really awesome kinds of weed, hot girls(not counting fakes), um I'm sure there's other awesome stuff. Sounds better than most states to me. Mostly the weed part. lol

Lol Yeah I don't think of Cali as AMAZING. I think it'd be a cool place to live but I'd mostly only wanna live there only if I was loaded with the ridiculous standard of living there.
