*Serious Information* Alpo dog food is killing dogs, have you heard yet?

Friends dog ate canned Alpo, immediately threw up and started convulsing on the floor. They rushed the dog to the vet, the dog now has maybe a 50% chance of living.

I've done research on this, looked to see if Purina a Nestle company had any recalls on the brand Alpo or any other brand they manufacture. No recalls.

BUT I did find that several and I do mean several people have had their dogs DIE after eating ALPO DOG FOOD.
The common reaction from these dogs were: vomiting blood or vomiting, blood in the stool, lethargy, convulsions ALL people reported their dogs dying if not that day to three days later.

I filed a complaint with Nestle which got me no where then filed a complaint with the Better business bureau.

Just wanted to let everyone that feeds their dogs Alpo know.

Some of these brands have a known euthanasia drug in them.

This is because tainted meat is getting in. These companies are not being careful probably because it's "just dogs" they think they can get away with it. If the food was being tested like it should, and sources were being dropped for their offences, this would stop. Problem is 1) it's easy to hide this and 2) a lot of people still buy cheap food bc they can't afford better (which is sad bc this cheap food isn't really good for the pet anyway, regardless of the euthanasia drugs)

It's a shame isn't it. They recalled in 07 but are pretending all is ok.

It's so messed up. The companies are so rich but are letting cheap horrible meat in and there's no excuse

After researching more I am appalled that these drugs are found in animal feed. We both know that this isn't an "accident".
I had no clue about what is going on until you commented. This keeps getting swept under the rug.

If they can't afford expensive brands they should be supplementing with veggies. Chuck some frozen veggies in the dogs food and the cheap stuff will go much further, cause veggies dont have fillers. Theyre just filling. And good for dogs.

@BaileyisDarcy agree, I feel the standards should be so much better. It's crazy though because we can't rightfully make dog foods that are required to be nutritionally balanced (ex. correct amount of fat, protein, etc) because human food is so bad too. But in a perfect world, the food would come balanced.

That's awful. I've never heard of that brand, but I hope justice is served. That is absolutely horrible.

damn that's sad. my dogs eat food from the brands that make their food natural so thank goodness.

There's a data base where you can search any brand to check. I did and thank God we don't feed ours the brands that have "issues"

I would recommend the good stuff like Rachel's stuff or Blue Mountain. Both very good for your canine compadré.

Nestle recalled some in 07 but hasn't since then.
While they know exactly what's going on. It's terrible.

I'd be more inclined to believe incompedence rather than intentional I suspect that it was an old can or one that wasn't sent back when the recall happened
