Why do girls and women give me dirty looks in public?

When I'm out in public, and see/ look at females I find attractive, when I make eye contact briefly, they give me a dirty look.

I've been told if I want to appear approachable, I should smile in a friendly way, but it doesn't work, it makes it worse as well as awkward.

I get the impression that females find me unattractive/ ugly/ and disgusted with the way I look.

Females never approach me, or even talk to me, and when I try to, they say 'I have a boyfriend', or make up an excuse just to get away from me all the time.

And I hate the way I look already, but this just makes me feel even worse about myself in genral...

So what can I be doing wrong?

I've lost weight (I was obese, weighing over 20 stone, not sure what that is in KG, but it was over 100kg).
I even got a new style with new clothes, to look more approachable, as well as look presentable and clean.
And my hygiene is good, never had a problem with it.

Hmmm... I genuinely mean this, but do you have a hobby? An interest? Something you're passionate about? Maybe try joining a club or an organization dedicated to this thing. And then you can talk to the girls in the club about that hobby/interest/whatever, cause it's a fair bet they'll be interested in that thing as well. It's a lot easier to break the ice if you actually have a ready conversation topic.

My hobby is gaming, playing football, bike riding, as well as spending time with animals and going to animal farms with my youner siblings.

What sort of clubs do you mean exactly?

Any sort of group that gets together to talk about/perform their hobby, really. Since I don't know where you live, I don't know what sort of opinions you have, but you could do an online search and see if there are any clubs or groups you could join/meet up with?

What are the best ways to talk to someone, or small talk convo starters/ questions that are OK to ask, and not to come across as a creep or something I'm not, and gives them the wrong impression of me.

Cause I'm terrible at it, especially small talk.

Things that are appropriate to the situation would probably be good. Like, if you're at a gaming convension you could talk about games. Or at an animal shelter you could talk about the animals. That sort of thing.

So how would I go about approaching a girl when at a social place without looking or making a fool out of myself, and without them feeling awkward if they notice me approaching them?

Well, how would you talk to a GUY in that situation?

I don't know, I don't really socialise with guys that well, me and other guys don't normally get along.
