Nuns are religious women who dedicate their whole life for prayer and the church. Yet... many people find them creepy and scary becasue their way of dressing, not interacting with people etc.. Also the movie "the nun"which is so popular ade people afraid of nuns. And I know that's super crazy and scary but the story of the possessed 17th century nun is TRUE.
Personally I don't find them creepy because I got used to them, my father's aunt is a nun, many nuns come to my school during break time so it's usual for me to see nuns passing by everyday at school.
If you grew up in an earlier generation and attended Catholic school (as was common in mid-century NYC), you'd know the answer to this question.
My mother is an easy going woman, but, when my father was suggesting sending me to Catholic school to appease his parents, my mother laid the law down and said "NNNNNOOOOOOOO". My mother hates nuns. If she was Godzilla, she'd find them all and hunt them down.
Too late to reply but I'm in a Jesuits catholic school. I don't know what's wrong with nuns, they're strict but that's for your own good. They raise well educated and behaving ladylike girls
I am sure the nuns are better than they were 60 years ago when Catholic schools had much more prominence. Once free taxpayer-funded public education became available, Catholic school attendance has slowly declined and power (and abuses) of the Church has declined as well. That said, good for going to a Jesuit school.
They don't hate order. The very nature of conservatives is that they crave order - they crave black and white and simplicity and authority figures. Trump knows this which is why he got elected.
But there's a difference between order and being abused as kids were generations ago.
Also, there's a difference between rational authority and irrational authority. The Islamic terrorists love authority too you know.
If God loves order, then Exodus never would have happened and Job wouldn't have gotten fucked over and He wouldn't have created the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle or...
People have phobias of everything including a phobia of phobias its irrational so there will be no great reason aside from maybe traumatic experiences or maybe some connections in the brain that dont make a lot of sense (misfiring nerves).

2 words “Mother Theresa” . Even though she is a saint she would actually have young alter boys get fucked by the Pope and the priests. She also would have people shunned or killed if they release anything negative about her and the pope.
Well stuff is different at nuns run school. The students are thought to be disciplined (what I liked) and are disciplined for misbehavior. Its different when run by priests
Well we also have to be disciplined. It was stricter when we were younger, for example we have to keep our hands behind our back while talking to a teacher, in lines, etc.. we have to wear full uniform, etc..
Nuns are not scary in the sense police are not scary. For a lot of people a nun was a woman who hit you with rulers and forced you to work harder, emphasizing force. Overall I don't find them scary
