Would u buy a punkah fan?

Punkah fans are a hand fan that doesn't use electricity at all and it produces air just like any electrical ceiling fan. Uh it's 40°c here and... there is a problem with electricity so I can't use air condition...
The only problem with punkahs is that someone have to pull it's rope so that it produces air, someone has to keep pulling that rope all the time. It was widely used by the Brits in Indian colonies and of course they had Indian servants that pulled the rope... but nowadays who would do that?

There was a big mistake in the naming actually. Punkah when translated to English means fan. The word fan was just written next to it as a translation but people stated to read both and hence it got called punkah fan.

you can take a piece of paper and crinkle it to make a hand fan that'll achieve the same effect but on a smaller scale. Seems like a waste of space and money to me, so no.

I just took it a few thoughts further.
If you really only want to know the technical side:
- if I were rich, I don't want one. To exploit others with 'slavery work' is not my thing.
- If I were richer, I'd have one: so that someone poor can have a job
