Context: The two people have talked quite a bit, where sexual jokes/innuendoes have been accepted/exchanged a few times without issue. Both people usually joke around with one another and are friends.
Who was in the wrong? Right? Maybe no one is?
Also, the person using “love” didn’t know it would get that reaction from the other person. If he or she had, they wouldn’t have used it.
Did the other person overreact? Was rude? Having a bad day?

Rude overreaction? Justified reaction? Mix of both? What are your thoughts, taking the context into consideration?
Even if they didn't know each other, that's a rude overreaction.. If you don't like bein called that, then politely ask the person not to call them any pet names.. I mean yeah..
Seems to be that the word hit a nerve with the offended party. Maybe they have some history that explains the reaction but unless the speaker knows that history, them the speaker had done nothing wrong.
I'm assuming the person doesn't usually talk this way, hence why you're asking the question?
Was there/may there be any reason as to why this person is telling off the other person in such a way? Another thing to keep in mind is that, with online conversations, the subtext of words can be misunderstood/misread.
However, it seems like the one whom called the person "love" has explained themself clearly and stated their concern towards the other, trying to create and come to an understanding.
Without knowing the question the full interaction between the two involved not just on this thread, but others as well really can't form an answer. Does it appear rude and over the top sure. But how do we know it's not the first. And some people use words and they're meant harmlessly, and others use them condescendingly... It's not always the words that are the issue it's the person using them out the way they meant them. Example: I had one user being overly rude and condescendingly call me toots... Another user pal of mine jumped in and called me toots jokingly 🤣 and now calls me toots all the time. Just like the word hon, some people say it in a nice way, and some say it in a condescending way... So, again not enough info to really give an answer here... 🤷🏼♀️

So, with all of that under consideration, can you now provide a more definite answer?
No not really... Because still doesn't tell all... I've joked with people about sex and it's been fine... Joked with others and they assume it's more than what it is... I've had people pm and I'm public threads try to get too familiar. And always try to politely discourage, but if they keep pushing or don't take no or hear what you're saying, well then polite isn't going to keep working. Again not knowing the whole story, I don't make assumptions.
The question for one... And also the real reason they reacted the way they did. This is only portraying one side of the story... Again I'd this person saying "hey love" just as a salutation? Or have they hit on that user before? Again it's not always the word, it's the person and the why? There's some people that call me him I'll put up with it, others who I won't I know one person who used to say darling to people, but he didn't mean it as an endearment, he thought he was so much smarter than everyone and had no respect for females so when he's calls em that is not an endearment, it's a sugar coated insult.
My problem is that the conversation leading up to you calling her "love" has been blurred out. How is anyone to tell if you insulted her before hand or gave some other reason for her seemingly abrupt and rude response. In my experience there is always 3 sides to every story... Yours, mine and the truth. I'll admit that it does seem rude and uncalled for in the little context given. However, I don't presume to know what led to this and can't say it was coming out of left field when I have no further evidence to the know. All I am saying is people tend to act out for a reason.

Everything you see is all there is.
I blurred out the usernames of those involved and the question/answers because I didn’t want anyone finding out who the people are
I think that men on online forums ought to realize that exchanging a few words with someone online doesn't mean the person actually sees them as any more than a stranger.
Especially if they attempt to do it with every female on the website, every time, all the time. People tolerate it because interactions on sites like these are utterly and entirely inconsequential, so they let it go.
But that doesn't mean they appreciate it in some way, it's not cute or nonchalant or flattering, in most cases it is simply going to come across as pathetic desperation of someone who clearly doesn't have much in the way of a real social skills and grossly overestimates the significance of interactions on a site like this.

So, what do you think of the situation here as it pertains to the question?
Thank you for your opinion of some of the ways that people online interact or see online interactions but it doesn’t answer the question specifically.
Just take the context I’ve written for consideration and read the exchange.
Every other assumption or speculation on these two individuals such as the one you just gave aren’t all true.
For some people, in some situations, yes, I would say you’re right.

But judging by the person's response, they seem to be. My judgement still stands, the second party probably overestimated the significance of whatever interaction it was that they had with the person prior to that.
Tolerance doesn't necessarily mean acceptance, perhaps it was just a tipping point for the first party because they've had a shittier day that day.
That, or perhaps the first party was simply fucking with them and the second party misread the tone and took it too seriously.
Because the reaction of the first party doesn't seem to align with the context you have provided. So the second party probably have misjudged something. Either the context was not perceived the same way by the first party or they changed their mind and no longer deem it sufficient.
But people don't really flip their script just like that, it's usually a culmination of repeated offenses that they have glossed over in the past. Perhaps the first party was just in a bad mood and unwilling to gloss over it at that point in time, or perhaps there is more to it that we don't know.
Well, from the context, it is mentioned that sexual innuendos and jokes were exchanged several times. There was a relationship of understanding between the two that implied that both could joke around each other, many a times in a sexual manner, with both knowing nothing serious will become of this.
Also, the offended party did not talk or explain to the other party why it was that they responded the way that they did.
The offended party deletes whatever the other says once they try to comment anything about this issue as well, then claims no talk is being had. This is rather recent.
Honestly I don't find it rude considering that's the way my sister always talk to me. I think the person is being a little too sensitive if they think it's rude. It's obviously better not to talk to people this ways but is also better to speak this ways rather than being not clear enough (some people are never straight forward). Also talking this ways may just be the person personality so it's either you support it either you don't and then you stop talking to this kind of people. In the end I'm not surprised and personally if someone talked to me like that I would just act as normal.

No, the person didn't insult the other or anything they just used "fuck" to make a statement, it's a bit a rough ways to talk but I don't find it rude (but after it could just be that I'm used to people talking to me this ways so I'm not shocked by it).
Personally I'd say they over reacted, I call people love, hun in passing ie: you okay love, thanks for that hun, thanks mate. And I have been called similar/same manner of things in return. However at uni I did meet a couple of European girls and they were like look in not your love, hun, babe so don't call me that we barely know each other. So I think it's more of a cultural thing in my hometown you'll always her "alrite love" being spoken especially at pubs
Overreaction i hate people like that. Who get touchy around words. No need to be so triggered. Could of just said i would like it if you didn't call me that even as just a joke. Rather than "don't fucking call me that" Like you just called her a slut or something.
The reaction was a bit over the top. A "Please don't call me that." would've been sufficient.
Based on the evidence you posted in the question, even with redactions, I know you were on the receiving end of that reaction. Posting styles are like fingerprints.
I can’t tell who said what. But my gfs have complained about my brash sexual talk. But then a few days later they start sex talk again. I guess there’s a line that chicks can move whenever they feel like it. I guess I shouldn’t complain so much.
