What is a diamond in the rough to you?

Something or someone with a rough, possibly unappealing appearance, yet it has the potential to be something special or stand out- like a diamond. Basically it's something that once you fix it up or unlock its potential or worth, it becomes valuable than it was perceived to be.

Certainly not having it written on me, permanently!! LOL!!
The ones I like, are the ones that are just that: Diamonds, but nobody can see them as the wonderful person they are!
Mostly, they just aren't wearing trendy clothes, they don't spend a lot, if anything on make-up, and most have smaller 'parts' that most guys just ignore!
Those are the ones I naturally want to talk to, and be with!! They are more interesting, and have REAL interests (other than just looking hot) and love to share things, and so much more fun to be with, than some of the ones that THINK they are 'diamonds' when really just cubic zirconia, or just pyrite (Bonus points if you know what that is, without Googling it!)
