Driving is just another area where you shouldn't prejudge a whole gender, although for those that still want to... Even I had the common sense to tell my mom not to drive through the alley yesterday cuz not only has it not been plowed, the city dumped a big pile at the opposite end, noone getting through there, yet A Semi Driver thought it was smart to try anyway and, two hours later:

And how many women are pro racecar drivers? Not many Women tend to be more cautious, but that doesn’t equate to more skilled

I think it was Jimmy Carr who said 95% of accidents are caused by male drivers and 5% are caused by bloody women drivers.

Because they generally are. In my 9 years of combined delivery driving service alone I've seen far more crashes that women created. Multitasking and panic seem to be factors.

It's just a long-running cultural joke. But it's the gift that keeps on giving, since people continue to be offended by it. ;)

  RIIIIIGHT! And the “good ol’ boys club” couldn’t possibly have anything to do with that! Also, when boys and girls are younger, boys are less risk averse, so they are more likely to start in kart racing at age 5 or 6. Plus father’s are far more likely to be protective of their daughters, and not allow them to kart race like their brothers. Essentially, the auto racing “food chain” has very few girls at the bottom, so they don’t get the chance to advance up to professional levels. On the rare occasions that they do, they’re like unicorns, so they get a LOT of press. If they don’t live up to expectations, suddenly that somehow reflects badly on all women! However, imagine if EVERY man who got a chance in pro racing and failed, faced the level of press scrutiny that the women did?

  @Brainsbeforebeauty there is a difference most men drive like race car drivers and drive wild, most women just straight up can’t drive slam on the breaks, can’t stay on the road etc. Thats why statistics probably say that.
