Cats seem to like watching TV, maybe because of the motion.

My friend came home one day and found his two kittens watching TV, which had been off when he left; they much have pawed the remote.

And I read about an incident in India where a little boy came in the kitchen and told his Mom "there's a tiger on the bed watching TV". She thought it was something he had seen on TV, but when she looked in the room saw not a tiger but a leopard on the bed watching TV.

Throw a cucumber everytime they watch it, they'll turn off tv themselves.

As far as why they watch, it's like watching tutorials on YouTube, and plan not to learn anything , but it was entertaining.
