When it comes to hand washing your dishes, do you have a particular way you do them?

What I'm referring to is if there's a certain order you do them? Or do you just dig in and start?

For me, can't begin until I sort the chaos and have them organized and work them by type.

Here's what I do:
I let the pots, pans, cutlery/sharps soak with hot soapy water, put aside on the stove and wash them last. Flatware gets to soak in the dishpan/sink while I work everything else.

First to be washed is the glass, ceramics and plastics (as long as they aren't stained or greasy) and those are put on a drying mat on the counter.

Next are the "flats" like plates, working from biggest to smallest and put in the dish rack.

After those I do the bowls, working from smallest to largest and depending on how many there are, I'll put some on the drying pad and some in the rack.

Finally, I do all the stuff I've had soaking. Flatware and cutlery first, the "flat" pans, then the pots and they all go in the rack.

WHEW! (Sounds OCD ASF, right? Lol)

The reason I do it this way is cuz the dishwater gets grungier as you go, so the stuff I want to shine goes first, and work down to the gunky stuff.

Oh, I almost forgot. If the plastics are greasy/stained, they're washed just before I do the pans n pots.
