What order do you wash the dishes?

I do the dishes first, the pots and pans second, the cups third, and the forks last. Cause sometimes I layer the dishes in between or around the pans on the drying rack to save space, which is why the first two are washed first, the cups are washed third, because they are the most difficult to clean due to their depth, and I believe difficult things should be washed before the easier things since they could poise a spatial difficulty if they are washed after the forks are, leading to possible breaking of the cups when the objects in the sink are moved around during collective washing.

I give everything that's beyond dirty a quick rinse and then start with the least dirty up to the most so I make most of the dishwater. Usually, it's 1, 2, 4 and 3 get a separate cleaning.

I don't wash but when I unload the dishwasher I do the knives first, then the forks and then spoons. I then grab the plates. I pick them up two at a time and put them in the cabinet. Then I get the bowls. Once I am done with the bottom rack I go to the top rack and do the spatulas and other implements before I put away the glasses.

I think it's a very old idea from a time when ironically much like today energy costs were insane and people couldn't afford to have technology in their homes to make water hot so if you wanted to wash anything up you had to make hot water by stirring it vigorously with a spoon.

As such you have to wash everything with one lot of water and so you wash the cleanest most delicate things first, like glasses and wash the filthy cooking pots last.
