Yes I am all for regulated and assisted suicide.
I’ve seen first hand the effect on a family of someone living in chronic pain and just waiting to die, no cure just 24/7 365 days of constant pain, only time when not in vocal pain was when on opiates. The feelings of the family watching a husband and father in agonising relentless pain.
There needs to be a lot of regulation and legislation around it all, for example mental health should not be a reason, whereas some forms of mental illness should be a consideration.

Several countries allow some type of assisted suicide. They are all highly regulated. However Switzerland is the only country I know of that allows foreigners to go there to do it.
If they have a suicide pod, it's nothing more than another method. In the past they used an injection. Other countries that allow assisted suicide will probably be looking at this to decide if it's more humane or not.
Personally I don't think the method matters all that much as long as it's effective and painless.
What the... HELL? Instead of actively encouraging people to take their own lives, maybe we should... gee, I don't know. Encourage them to seek counselling perhaps? Talk to someone who understands what they're going through?
What kind of mad science-fiction dystopia are we now living in? What kind of psychopathic nutcase came up with this idea?
Nothing says how it works. If a person is wanting to commit suicide they don't want to linger, like running out of oxygen, which is my guess how this pod works. Hermetically sealed so no air goes in or out. It should also have an escape mechanism in case they change their mind at the last moment. Fast is why most use guns.

It seems an over complicated method. If a person is really sick you'd have to help them into it then there's the issue of feeling time pressure when it's delivered to your house. I can see the delivery guy tapping his fingers thinking cmon I've another 5 suicides to get to today.
I think that due to age and serious medical issues a persons life quality can become zero. Peoples family can do everything they can to keep a person around. Because family members can't deal with losing them. Despite their family member clearly wanting them to let them go. So to me this will be something that will show up in retirement homes and hospices.
I don’t know how I feel about this. Seems it would be too easy.
As i've also heard and not mentioned in other articles about it, they just don't give that to anyone. At least you need to be approved to use it and it should be strictly for people who has no debts, old enough or suffering with painful disability in a hospital bed that can't be cured. I don't support it being used on just depression.
Absolutely. I saw this the other day and I was floored. Wish there was one in my area sometimes. Only sometimes, mind you, when I forgot my medication.
I’m assuming there is a screening process. I’m for allowing choice to end life.

nah... many people would start to "trip and fall into them... oops"
This is a Sarco device (or Pegasos) invented by a Dutch engineer. I didn't know they were authorized for use in Switzerland. I'm not sure about suicide in general. Part of me says it's always wrong and another part says that it might be okay in certain situations (ex: terminal illness).

We are one step closer to Futurama being a glimpse of our actual future.
Absolutely not. Life is precious man and God put us on this Earth for a reason.
We need to live out our purpose. Life gets tough but we can work around it.
By the grace of God people have risen from the ashes of despair.Seems moral
but why does it looks like its gonna transform to red amongus? lolswitzerland? can't they just attempt a solo mountain climb if they're so upset?
They used to have those in the US. They were called Ford Pinto's.
I have a few questions:
1) do you buy or rent them?
2) are spectators involved? (family/friends)
3) can you take your phone in there?Maybe for the terminally ill that’s suffering but I don’t think it’s good for anyone else, I guess they have a population problem there
If you aren't pro life, then you should have zero arguments for this.
Suicide numbers would skyrocket so I say no, on the other hand I feel like I know what I'm doing for my 35 birthday.
I would be really mad, if my taxes went for something like this.
Will order one at Amazon 🤣
It is sad that it has come to this...
