If you had a ridiculous amount of power at your fingertips, do you think you'd abuse it rather than use it for good purposes only?

Good purposes are always abuse to someone. If you feed the hungry you are robbing farmers of their livelihoods. But, with absolute power at my fingertips one of the things I would be able to do is forsee consequences. And I'd certainly strive to minimize them. The key is not to give everyone what they want but only remove the obstacles that make obtaining it for themselves too difficult, as one of the many things people need is a feeling of accomplishment. Unfortunately, there are those few who have malicious desires. Making things harder for them but opening other avenues for self fulfillment is the best solution, but even still they may try to be bad no matter what. Such people tend to be the obstacles for many others and would have to be removed.
I'd use it for my idea of good.
Doesn't necessarily mean that my vision of good would align with everyone else's vision of good, of course.
I don't doubt there would be those who would consider me a villain, but it's not like I would care since I would be possessing a ridiculous amount of power, and thus acting as the supreme ethical authority by the virtue of having the means to override everyone else.
My opinion is I do not know how long I will live so I won’t try to monopolize my control of the world, if I have enough for health, security, safety, family care, social activities and moderate pleasures, I will not continue to spend my money. I’ve heard of millionaires who die spending less than 25% of their net worth while alive. That’s what I would do if I was rich.
I would definetly use it to make my life A dream. Allways enough money, allways having fun wherever I want to be, maybe still a bit of my curiosity. But use it mostly for good, (I hope). But the world would change a lot and what I consider a better world wouldn't be a better world for all people.

Nah. Ever since I was a kid I cared about other people a lot. Until recently I prioritized other people's emotional needs over my own because I didn't want to see them hurt. I worked on that and changed that recently. But I still don't enjoy seeing others struggling, let alone by the cause of it.
I'd use it for what I think is good for everybody. I would undoubtedly become hated by every political party in the world very quickly. Followed by death threats from progressives and conservatives, the far Left and the far Right. Everyone would claim I'm abusing my power because I have failed to comply with their demands.
I'd probably just wipe out a lot of government agencies all over the world and a lot of people who work for them as well. Many policemen and military men and women would be removed in an instant. The world would be a better place for it. I'd also wipe out a lot of people in prison probably. I'd restore a lot of rainforests and put new ones in place of deserts, and several laws would be gone immediately everywhere.
I'd use it to hold certain people accountable. But mostly I'd probably use the power to just subtly mess around with people. Not enough to make them go mad but enough to make them stop and ask "wait what?". Like reaarange their stuff. Some gusts of wind here and there. Put someones car a few spaces over.
Of course I would. That's the kind of silly question that's going to get you thrown right into the leopard pit.
I'd give it up. That much power almost always can corrupt you. Unless the power is specifically rooted in a person's goodness and will render them powerless if they change, then I'll accept it and use it for good.
For the good of the world, a lot of people must die.
there's no such thing as absolute good bc no matter everything changes no matter what. it would be like ther butterfly effect you change one thing it cascades from there. everything happens for a reason and it all been set out for all of us if you like it not. you can help others but you can't just fix the world for the greater good bc no matter what evil will poke its head out.
Corporate America is structured so that if you are powerful you can use it to abuse, compromise and twist rules to your advantage without meaningful consequences. However, as soon as you begin to try to use that power to change the system for the better, you become an inefficient cog in the machine and no matter what your leverage is, you will be replaced. Examples of this principle are Donald Trump and Edward Snowden.
id do good things as liek my day job, my 9-5 but play would probably be huge abuses of power because im bored or sad or horny.
I feel like I would use it for love, like have a bow and arrow and shoot love arrows so people can fall in love instead of fall into hate
Just like this angel girl in this music video
https://youtu.be/FOjdXSrtUxA
So basically you would take the free will and make random people fall in love?
@Aakash_Hangargi No I would use my powers for everyone to love each other instead of hate one another
The problem is that video is love in its eyes is just smooching 😉 and you don't know like what there relationship is like at end part of video it was like two guys kissed one girl 🤣 .
So without knowing someone shooting them with arrows is kinda abuse of power.
You can't intervene and make someone love other if they hate them it's taking away their choice and free will 🙂.
I am just saying as logical point how even though you think what's good isn't really good for them
I appologise to kill the buzz sorry 🙈
@Aakash_Hangargi Hahahahaha don't worry I get you 💜
I disagree, while making random people fall in love is maybe odd.. people can possibly appreciate each other better. It intervenes with free will but if they are really in love would they really mind? chicken or egg. It might be more optimal to make the world a kinder place and let people meet the ones they could fall in love with
A bit of both, actually. I'd definitely abuse it, but the world I would create would be far better for those who survive.
Oh, I could say I'd use it for noble purposes, or justice, but I wouldn't.
I'd start off well enough, feed the hungry, make the world a better place, etc. Then someone would piss me off in traffic, and I'd obliterate half the planet. 🤷♂️
I’d use it for good. Good for me, not necessarily good for others.
I don’t think I would’ve use it but then again I’ve never had that kind of power so I don’t know what I would do or how it would change me
Gandalf said it best
I would use this Ring from the desire to do good. But through me, it would wield a power too great and terrible to imagine.
I would mostly use the power for good along with making my life good too lol
Use it for good since I’m not evil or power hungry, whenever because more powerful or rich it only amplifies what they already are so they will either be really good or really bad depending on how they really were before
You see, good is pretty vague but I'd assume any entity powerful enough to do anything would choose to things which humans want anyway
I would avoid using it as much as possible. I already don't like getting involved with people.
I'd first use it to punish people that I see as bad before using it to help people.
I would consider my actions to be for the greater good, although the know nothing brainwashed sheeple would not recognise that for a while.
If you are talking about the amount of power the infinity gauntlet has, no matter who has it, sooner or later it will corrupt the one holding it.
No human iss worth that power.
I will use it for good cause... but as an imperfect human in some cases I might actually abuse it but not for my sake
i would have a throne, and have big muscular football players massage me and feed me grapes, Talk about an exciting way to use power hehe
Unless if I had a ridiculous amount of discerning wisdom in my brain to go along with it, I wouldn't want it.
Nope the large majority of it would be help the universe continuously though I may do something selfish and make a perfect wife
I would use that power to find a panel of more suitable holders.. And then hold a reality tv type elimination series. Only completely unviewable to any public.
I use it make me this richest and most powerful person on earth, have my own country and when someone try to delete me. Gun become a banana and knife would cut them.
I wanna say I'd be a hero, but at most I'll be an anti-hero.
No, i have already certain talents and I only use them for good.
I'd do everything in my power to use it for good, and that's the tricky part.
I feel I’d wouldn’t want it. Even if I wanted to create justice or do “good”, like the One Ring, there’s no way not to do evil.
I would probably use it a few times for my own purposes but I would also try to do good things aswell.
I would consider what I would do with it good. Good and bad is an opinion.
The thing with power is what one thinks is good another thinks as bad.
No I’d use it for good first thing first : World hunger
would be interesting to go after all the evil people in the world...
I'd just go back and be 17 again... fix my worst mistakes.
You fool, I already do HEE HEE HEE HAW. I am 3.5 SSs ahead of you hee hee haw
I'd use it as I needed or wanted to. Let history decide whether it was good or bad.
Likely do almost nothing with it and suffer from choice paralysis.
No because what you do in the dark will come to light eventually 💯
Using it for justice is not abuse. 😬
I would only use it for the Good.
Good is subjective. I’d implement my good.
This answer is vague and ominous. I like it!
@SecretsofKB I would be fair but uncompromising.
Probably a bit of both lol... ngl
I'd probably be a Deadpool, an anti-hero lmao.
What is the definition of good purposes?
i'd abuse it because i hate everyone.
I'll have fun with it.
I'll have sex, coacaine, meth, heroine every fun thing that is possible without facing it's adverse effects.
Well given the world and the life we've live not abusing it wouldn't do it any justice lol
Absolute power corrupts absolutely
No, it just allows you to do things you wanted to do anyways.
I would use it to heat up my burrito
I expect I'd do both.
No, I'd be more likely to create a utopia.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I use it for personal gain.
I know and I'd become a supervillain
