My newer laptop lost the ball part in the center of the key that was loose and now I had to buy a new laptop because the one that has no ball?

I think you're talking about the thing that looks like an eraser in the middle of the keyboard. Very few people use that... it's basically the same as a mouse to move the cursor arrow around the screen. Most people use the touchpad or a USB mouse.

In other words, the laptop is still usable without it... no need to buy a new one. If it really bothers you, you can take it to a computer repair shop and they can put a new one on. That would be much cheaper... and easier... than buying a new laptop.

Uhhh no I would bring your laptop to a electronic repair shop before coming to conclusions that you need a new laptop.
