Gender symbolic colour is a relatively new concept in terms of the history of humankind, and its origins are hard to pin down. Before the second world war there was little to no reference on gender symbolic colours, and it is likely something introduced as a marketing ploy. Do you feel pink is a feminine colour and blue is masculine? Are we just trained to think this way or is there an innate draw to one colour over another depending on your gender? Do you think that pink for a girl and blue for a boy is still appropriate?
