I've been scared a few times one time going yo washington pulling my boat going across a Bridge and they had been doing work on it so all they had up with caution tape cuz he has guardrail down and halfway through it I get black ice and I was going over the cliff my head my brother with me then he felt that he could you could just feel it and he goes oh fuck because we were going up you can't hit the brakes because then I'm really going off I had taken my foot off the throttle you have to understand this all happened within 10 seconds but I take my foot off the throttle and I reach my foot back down my brother Joey don't touch the brakes don't touch the brakes and I just throttled it it started driving into it and I had to finesse it though because I didn't want the boat to go off because it would have pulled us done with it so like I said I only had split seconds to think all I know is I'm glad that I used to race dirt bikes and I'm glad that I did not panic I didn't think about Panic until it was done and over with
Another time the same kind of thing I wasn't scared until after it was over with but there was a truck a fire truck in front of us we are on our way home from work got a fire truck you lost control when off the road and he rolled and flipped and flipped and flip that thing my boss was driving he stops and I also think by the time that he came to a stop I was already out of the car and in front of our truck running to them because it was on fire and I got there and I pulled one guy out that was a bitch trying to get him out I ended up taking off my coat covering him up and busted the front windshield all the way out I drugged him probably 30-40 ft I ran back to get the other guy and he was just coming to he was unconscious but he was safety belt today in and there was a knife on the floor board can I just cut the safety belt they pulled him out of there truck ended up catching on fire it didn't explode or anything like that but it caught on fire as we are sitting there I started thinking about it hello my adrenaline started doing whatever it was doing my boss walked over to me and said you're fired is what the fuck were you thinking I didn't say anything I wanted to say a lot of things but I didn't a couple days later he asked me again I said look at it if that would have been you or your part of your family would you be bitching right now he said no I said okay then I said I knew I had plenty of time I wouldn't have done it if I thought I was going to get caught up in something because but how do you know and I said I just felt it I had a matter of minutes and I did it he asked me if I would do it again I told him in the same scenario yes I go I can't tell you right now but if the exact same thing happened I would call you it again
I see there is another time I was coming back from California and I'm on the very top of the summit at a rest area it's probably 3 in the morning 2 in the morning this rest area is just pitch black and I'm looking up at the stars because I'm seeing all these lights zigzagging all around like their UFOs or something and again my brother was with me we're looking at it and all of a sudden something big and something heavy jumped in the back of my truck and we both about shit or cash my brother's going to go go go go Drive hurry I turn around and it is a wild cat somebody either left their cat up there or they were traveling and their cat got away but that sucks that's pretty scary though just for a brief second so what was your scariest moment00 Reply

I was actually one mounted on a truck.
It sounded like a rocket engine it was blowing out of the relief valve and the flames were about 30ish feet high.
I was the driver/operator on the second due in engine so I had to position my engine between the burning truck, which had started the pole barn that it was parked in, (a huge violation) was now fully engulfed, so it was starting to turn into a big mess, live electric wires were dropping, high voltage lines.
I kicked everyone out of the engine before I positioned the engine between the burning truck, & bar, and between the huge permantly mounted LP tank, to cool that tank so it too would not start blowing out of the relief valve.
LP tanks have a very nasty habit of blowing up, it's officially called a BLEVE which is short for boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion which is a real pants wetter.
The vast majority of people anywhere near one do not survive.
As I was making a bee line to my position I had to go right in front of the burning truck, and I saw somethinf in the corner of my eye, and it turned out that not everyone got out of the engine.
One of our newer firefighters froze and didn't get out.
Her eyes were as big as dish plates.
I was committed at that point so I got into position, got her the heck out of there, and put every drop of water I could get on the large tank.
Everything turned out fine, we let the truck burn itself out, kept the tank cool, and when it was safe enough we turned the valve off on the truck, so the fire went out.
but at one point I started to question my career choice.
Good thing I was too busy to really think about what I was doing.00 Reply

+1 yIt may not be that super serious like everyone else's story, but the thing I can never forget in my whole life being super scared was seeing my younger sister fainting in front of me. Like... it's really serious. She looked so pale, and the problem also was our parents were not with us. It's only the two of us in our house. Good thing we have wifi so I get to contact my aunt who graduated as a nurse (plus my phone was about to get drained by that time) and asked advice from her. I quickly called my mom too while trembling, then the villagers went to our house and called an ambulance to sent my sister to the hospital. I was with my sister the whole time. She can't speak, she can't move, and she was so pale. All I can do was pray. Hours later, our parents arrived at the hospital.

+1 yWas 16 and doing flight training in an old cessna 150. Setting up for an approach and this guy flies towards me in the opposite direction. I turn to avoid and he turned into me. Last minute, my instructor rammed the stick to the opposite side, plane about went upside down and began spinning towards the earth at only 1500 feet. Seeing that altimeter spin counter clockwise and hearing my instructor yell "oh god" and the loud hum of the engine rpm increasing still haunts my memory. By Some act of God the little 150 leveled out a 100ft or so before the ground and i lived to tell the story. I still finished my license.
20 ReplyI've had near death experiences, really bad fights and I have drowned before, but nothing ever comes close to sleep paralysis. The thing with those is that your brain only processes the event after it happens due to the fight or flight response, not sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is NO JOKE. You're totally aware of your surroundings, but you're completely helpless, and your mind starts seeing things that aren't there, but it feels very real. You try to snap out of it, but you can't. You can slightly move your head, but that's about it. I don't think I've ever been more scared than an episode of sleep paralysis, nothing ever comes remotely close.

+1 yI’m a tad fatalistic and had a number of ‘oh fuck’ moments.
My first night in Basra was a full on rocket attack, however after that it was fairly common and you just got on with stuff.
Doing aircraft recoveries outside the wire were a tad concerning as you were off base and open to the ‘elements’
I found things like exam results more nerve wracking than rockets n rounds, there are worse things than death, failure being one of them.
Dealing with aircraft engine and APU fires the first time round can be a bit sobering lol, however training tends to kick in with a lot of stuff and you get on with it.00 Reply- 3.8K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yI got stranded in a crossfire between 2 opposing Muslim rebel forces and the Philippine military firing bullets and RPGs at each other during an effort to save women, children & animals while their town was getting bombarded. As a result, I later became a personal friend of 8-division boxing champ, Senator Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao, who ordered personal troops to rescue me and my team of volunteers.

@TheBigGuy9 Yeah. Compared to many parts of the Philippines, California seems so sedate, so tranquil.

I was crying very badly even though it wasn't poisonous one. After that when in my parent's showroom inauguration they busted a very loud cracker and I almost fainted due to my strong phobia from sounds. After that are thunderstorm nights.

+1 yWhen a summons came to me in the mail and I had to sign to get well I pleaded not guilty and there was a hearing all over my ex-gf, I just warn everyone don't get involved with an ex who is harassing you instead of take them to court to stop the harassment if it's that bad or just ignore them but don't get even with them.

+1 yThe first time I dropped acid was with my brother.
I told him I'd meet him at the store down the street in a few minutes.
When I came outside there were no cars, no sounds and I was starting to really feel the effects of the acid. For that walk to the store I started playing with the idea that I got transported to another dimension where there's no people and I'd never see my brother again.10 Reply The most scared 😱 I’ve ever been is one time at a fair, went on a ride that wasn’t screwed down to the floor properly. Could feel it coming off the floor as we went in circles. In the end, due to my ear piercing screaming my friend had to get the ride stopped. 😞😞never been so frightened in my life 😢😢

+1 yI was getting beat down by a gang. The adrenaline rush worked for a while but they fractured my arms and hands with their kicks and I could no longer block them. That's when the sheer sense of dread came to me that this might actually be my final moment. Fortunately, the police showed up just as I was about to fade out.

+1 yProbably the 2016 earthquake. I'm use to earthquakes, they happen all the time here but I've never experienced one that violent. Things were flying off shelves, I had a purfume bottle break. Then we had to evacuate inland in case of a tsunami. My mum had to go in a separate car because we didn't want our elderly neighbor being alone

I think it's a toss up between getting ran over by a van when I was 7 or driving my 66 Chevelle down a hill at 150 mph while running from the state police back in 1999, or rolling my 73 Blazer and getting ejected from the vehicle. Almost died each time and they all were Chevrolets hahahaha
