As someone obsessed with history, I admire this couple a lot. They have a passion for history and are not afraid to completely dedicate their lives to it despite the negative attention they sometimes receive. People just follow whatever everyone else is doing (especially fashion) but this couple doesn't care about that.
I would love to do something similar but my passion is more for the 1900's and 1920s/1940s. Right now I just avoid mainstream media/news, wear the clothes, watch the movies, listen to the music, collect objects, et cetera. One day I'd like to give everything up and live in the eras fully.
Many others are living this way and choosing to not engage in current trends. The terms for it are Timewarping and History Bounding. I've been part of these scenes for a while now, along with the vintage scene.
I had a friend that bought some land in a rural area and put a trailer on it. He had no plumbing or electricity. He did not own a car either. There were other folks living the same way. One guy used to go down to a river to get water. He invited me to spend some time up there with him. I was going through a lot of confusion in my life and thought that maybe I would just live up there too. I think after 4 or 5 days I was bored to death.
Not my thing, but it's cool. I think it would be really hard living without the modern amenities I'm so used to, though I think it would really make a person appreciate the things we take for granted every day.
I've always thought it would be cool to spend a day in a certain period of history, experiencing life as they did. One day would be enough for me though, lol!
If they don’t use phones.
They don’t know what it feels like to be ignored through text by a lover or partner

A former girlfriend of mine (now married) participates in Civil War re-enactments. I can only take a certain amount of "little House on the Prairie", but more power to them if that is their thing. Maybe they don't model trains or playing the organ- I do. Whatever floats the boat.
This pretty much proves there is someone for everyone.
They've found something that they both enjoy... the perfect couple.
It's cute and they look like a great match props to them
It's fine but quite silly. They're only doing certain things. I highly doubt they're using chamber pots and dumping and cleaning them in the morning, i doubt he's yelling at her or hitting her if she talks out of turn etc.
I mean if they are happy with it who cares, but obviously they are over compensating for something. I am just glad that they found each other and are happy.
They’re not authentic when they’re talking to a camera made in the 2010s. They’re getting their costumes from Amazon. Plus, you know he got his glasses from Costco. Real 1800s couples wouldn’t have Costco memberships or Amazon Prime.
It’s definitely interesting, I remember seeing someone on the news way back that everything in the guys house was 1940s era. Wondering why her nose is so red though, lol
I can't imagine how bad they must smell...
Good for them, I guess?
All of the women had positive comments but only half the men had anything positive. The rest were insulting or demeaning.
that they are smart and humble people who love nostalgia...
The Amish do it all the time.
Does he rape her because rape was legal in the 1800s?
Happy for them lol. I think it’s cool to see it.
If they like it and want to live that way, then that is what matters.
If that's their thing go for it.
That looks really neat!
not sure I would ever want to live that way
Not my thing but it’s cool
its pretty cool and they seem so happy
It’s interesting and part of it sounds fun!
Not my thing but it’s cool
Whatever floats your boat lol.
I would live it
Love it , I meant to say
Should we care? Thier basically Amish whoopty doo
That is really cool for them!
Sounds fun!
Very odd.
