Would ya? 🤪

I was one, at a very junior level, anyway. In the late 90s, I used to compete in SCCA, and I went to Skip Barber racing instruction. It was a lot of fun, but it's really hard on the car, and I was driving my daily driver because I couldn't afford a dedicated race car, and, yeah, it gets expensive pretty quickly. When you have to replace a clutch that's only 6 months old, new tires every 3-4 months (racing slicks that are so soft that they barely last 100 miles), new transmission, etc., you start to understand why racing isn't something most people do. It's a ton of fun though.
I used to race cars back in the 1980s & 1990s.
Easy to start. Go to a local race track and ask to see someone in charge.
They will give you a entry form and a list of rules. Plus a booklet of the car classes and category.
Like for example you have stock, modified, pro street, high modified and so on.
Stock is the cheapest to get your feet wet and see if you want to go farther into racing.
Stock is also the best to learn how to drive on a race track
Oh yeah, better learn stick shift. Most race cars are stick, because better on fuel and you can shift faster then an automatic can
Stick is easy to learn. Just dont get mad. The hardest part is learning foot control of the gas and clutch
Muscle memory is key
That means practice a lot
Yes you have to buy your own car when starting out.
Then you need to modified to the track rules.
1st thing is just check out their booklets on the rules
Forget college, learn from YouTube. Save your money
I would lov to. I feel the need! The need for speed! I love everything about race cars and races. I like drag races the best (Iif the still have those) like dragsters and muscle cars. Love love love it. 🏎️
I love to pretend I am in mobile games and that's it 😂

I think I'd love it but I don't think I'd be any good at it. I like to do go-cart racing but I'm a very mediocre racer there who tends to crash all the time. In particular, I was really humbled one time when some professional race car drivers joined us amateurs on the track and they were whizzing past me on the tight turns while I was crashing left and right trying to keep up with the pros.
I love extreme sports and was a sponsored vert skateboarder in my youth but when it comes to operating vehicles, I'm very bad when it comes to spatial awareness and judging distances and how fast I should be going for a turn.
Motorcycle racing might suit me better? I'm not sure about that since I haven't tried, but it looks like we can use our entire bodies to control the motorcycle in ways where I might be able to compensate for some of my clumsiness in operating vehicles and judging speed and making tight turns.

I have been! 13 years ago 😁

A licensed street racer, won 3rd place of a drag race series. 7th place in preformance (400+ HP with 3.8 L engine) 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.
@Jaximus-Lion and now you are a chef. I really enjoy your questions about food preferences, and food in general. I see you were once a very talented race car driver. That's so cool! Do you still run it once in a while! It was a dream of mine when I was much younger. I think I would have been very good at it.🏎️
@sage2021 glad to hear that 🥰. Having racing license is better than driving a car in the middle of the traffic like a maniac. The food! Being from tje middle east, moving to Sweden and exploring other cultures and foods is interesting. Just steaking a burger or making pasta does not makes you a chef here in Sweden, making delicious food for allergic people like my self and food combination knowledge is what being a chef is all about here. Have you ever tried to take a car on a race track and just test?
@Jaximus-Lion No, unfortunately I never had the chance to drive a race car at all. I high school the guys would race each other and I would be in the car. We used to go to the quarter mile race track on Friday nights. Then I would go to professional drag races. So, that is where I got my passion for race cars.
I was married to a cook that was in the U. S. Navy for four years. He came from a long line of male cooks in his family. They are Italian. One day they went to the ocean and collected a bucket of fresh clams and made linguini in clam sauce. It is one of my favorites. What dishes do you like to make? Seafood is my favorite food. What is yours?
@sage2021 If you still have your driver license and you can manage speed! I recommend you to go to a track, rent a sport car, take few laps with an instructor and then... Enjoy the rush.
I have many favorite foods :D In Sweden they have a special dish called (cake sandwich) d2ihp3fq52ho68.cloudfront.net/YTo2OntzOjI6ImlkIjtpOjEyODIxMDM7czoxOiJ3IjtpOjQ4MDtzOjE6ImgiO2k6MzIwO3M6MToiYyI7aTowO3M6MToicyI7aTowO3M6MToiayI7czo0MDoiMTVhNmRiMzZjMmFjOTBlZWRlY2QyMTYxZDc2OWZhYmMyYjI0YmQwYSI7fQ== And it is amazing with shrimps, smoked salmon and prawns in between. I like fish a lot, am going easy on red meats but BBQ is my thing (don't know how to smoke meat yet) and soups, specially mushroom soup OMG.
@Jaximus-Lion you are so lucky you get to eat such delicious foods😋. You are making me hungry man! 🙋🏼♀️
A group of my friends and me have a track car.
The plan is to enter races this year and get qualified for motorsports events and not just track days. We can then compete.
My ex wife and ex girlfriend both have Motorsports competition licences, with my ex wife also qualified to instruct.
my street racing days were short and are over for good... it was exciting but it's dangerous (and expensive as well, lol)
so interesting... lol...(lol)
@NathanDavis Aweeeeeee 🥺
last time I tried, the engine ended up burning... and I'm not a fan of the heat
hahaha... nice
are you a good driver?
I would like to try 😆
I would sell my souls for one lap with an F1 car 😅 I’d probably crash but yeah 😂
Thank you, madame 🤪
Depends on the cars we are racing and the track. Stock car? Sure, I would drive one of those. Regular street car and in the city of in a closed off area for a track? Sure.
Does street racing count? I'm not a professional racer but I be swerving 😏
Then yes
I would like to do this. The Formula one cars look like a lot of fun.
Nah I'll pass lol but my mom always wanted to be one because her step dad used to take her to the racetracks when she was little...
I mean I would love to. But I haven't even got a driving licence yet. And I've only driven for a total of 15 minutes in my life. And I nearly hit a lamppost during that too.
No, I don't see the appeal to driving a car, but faster.
Working on building a race car, so yeah I’d love to do it professionally
Yes, but I have to settle driving in demo derbies instead.
I would. And I came close! I owned and drove a sportscar. AND, ever so briefly, I worked in Formula 1!
No. I have a muscle condition that would not let me make such quick and sudden turns of the steering wheel for 2-3 hours straight.
It was one of my fantasies as a child. And this was back in the 1960s when drivers were being killed left and right. Of course when you're a kid you don't see danger.
I would love to. Unfortunately I'm not a good enough high speed driver.
I've done lot of carting race's when I was young and won quite a few. If was to get in to racing my choice would be rallying
I've already been one
really
Yes ma'am, long time ago. I raced for a couple of years
My father raced when he was younger. To go to the races together. He asked me if I wanted to try it and I said hell yes. So we bought a car and a trailer and we went racing
Where does it say professional. I would guess when you're racing for cash and trophies that's considered professional is it not
is that you?
Also took my son racing ☝️
Yes it is me
Thats so cool ^^
Thank you
No, I'd prefer a real job that allows me to contribute to society
Racing drivers do contribute. Why do you think people go to races?
Also, most of them have day jobs.
Probably not. It doesn't interest me and it can be life threatening.
I am one…in my head. I’m on lap 12 right now.
That son of a ———— just cut me off!
Maybe a race truck or a monster truck drive
I get all that out of my system on my own. 😇
Street racer, stock car, formula 1?
Can confirm I would 😅
Nope and I’m unable to drive
I’m not even interested in racing video games. lol
Can we at least admit that this ain’t a sport?
No thank you. I'm not trying to get killed.
No thank you
No, because I can't drive.
Nah id crash lol
Nope
