English to Slovak is pretty good, especially considering that Slovak is a complex language.
Simpler sentences, like the one you just wrote, could pass for something written by a native speaker.
It even tries to place commas correctly if they are missing in the original text.
The only issue is with rules and conventions which are absent in the source language.
For example, English doesn't have gendered grammar but Slovak does.
In Slovak, you can tell from the text whether the person speaking is male, female or neuter (used for children, things and animals).
But since this doesn't exist in English at all, Google translate has no way to translate it and it defaults to the male gender every time.
I can’t read or write in a foreign language beyond very basic words but I had a friend from Brazil who used to email me every week using Google translate to convert Portuguese into English and I went over three years without seeing a single grammar error in his emails, that means, Google translate is grammatically correct, but whether it correctly interprets your speech is a different matter and I would say, Google translate has limited vocabulary because if I try to use an uncommon word, it will either misspell the word and convert it to a more commonly used English word with similar letters, or it will translate the sound of the word and not the meaning of the word, like when I tried to Google less common words, it did not recognize the word and thought it was a name and simply gave me the sound of the name of a foreign language.
The very same question was asked not long ago.
All those translation programs rely on an algorithm that is fed by people's comments and is fine tuned each time someone corrects the standard given translation.
Now, there are a number of languages that are translated much better than others, such as German, French, Italian or Spanish. The reason is that those languages use a similar phrase structure, with the exception perhaps of German.
Other, more exotic languages are more difficult to translate and you can get some hilarious translations. Mainly those languages that heavily rely on accents on specific letters, such as Hungarian for example, are not translated as well and the translation has to be taken with caution.
It isn't always grammatically correct, and never can be. Hence why translator and interpreter are still really good jobs.
But write something in English, use Google translate it to another language. Then open up another tab and enter Google translate to convert it back to English.
Get some hilarious results sometimes.

It's terrible. Common everyday phrases are ok because their programmed in as a whole. But if you try and translate a unique sentence it can make a lot of mistakes. For example if you type in "morgi mawr" you should get "big shark" but Google gives you "large mortuary". There's quite a few books and internet photos of public signs mistranslated by Google.
Another problem is the grammar. For example we chop the last bit off verbs and replace them with other bits. Eg the verb to iron is smwddio but to order some one to iron your shirt its smwddwch unless it's your wife then its smwdda you can also add lots of other bits, confused, don't worry so is google.
It's not very good. I was talking with a Bulgarian friend a while ago who spoke almost no English and I don't know any Bulgarian. We tried using that and, it was okay for a few minutes but, she couldn't make sense of some of the stuff I was saying and vice versa. We tried 3 or 4 other other translators before we found one that actually worked.
It's eh; some languages better than others. I know Icelandic is a mess in Google translate - my friends have tried. I would never use Google translate for sentences, especially if I don't have anyone who could correct the mistakes for me.
I was in Germany for 5 years and learned the language on the streets so my experience may not be the best opinion but, I find it to be too literal in the translation from German to English and back. The translation does not always convey what I think is the correct meaning for the context.
Translating something into English works relatively well, from what I have noticed. The other way around, not so much.
Like for words its good sentences a lot less especially if they get complicated

About 75% accurate. You can get by with it but knowing another language is better.
