Me and my sister heard loud explosions not far away, and we live on a small island. And there's no holiday, so why the fuck are there loud explosions outside at 2 am?

The US Navy is straight up everywhere and those might be sonic booms from military aircraft.

They have Aircraft carriers, tons of them, enough to cover the entire planet. Secondly, Sonic Booms at high altitude go pretty far and Europe is not that large.
