i was in a similar situation while doing a tutor job in the context of a school project. it wasn't "spitting" but i'm usually not easily offended, so i would have done the same in that scenario.
so for context: i was hired for an 8 week project. the students would need a grade at the end of the project in a class of their choice in order to pass the year. i was one of the project tutors. so then there was this student who was really like "gangster", disrespecting me all the time, being loud and interrupting everything all the time.
what i do is, i give one warning. i tell them to stop what they are doing and never do that again or i'll expell them and if i expell them, they have to repeat the entire year. i wasn't even sure i was allowed to dot hat. so anyway the student did it again and i sent him to the office to tell the principal that i had expelled him to deal with that situation.
10 minutes later the student was back witha nother teacher, telling me that i can't just expell students. so basically i said: well it's either he leaves my class or i do. your choice. i think the principal decided to stuff that student into another class later but i really didn't care about this asshole of a student.

then I would right away, have to exercise the utmost self-control and restraint or I could really go ape shit about it (given that the person with alpaca tendencies is a man)
and then I would just cleanup myself and try not freak about it, and just slowly calm down myself... lol
yeah, I would not let that get into me... for me to react to very primal reactions would not be a good idea at all
I agree most likely I would of seen red as well. But that scenario is tough cuz that's his job and a minor. I am assuming it's a minor. As the principal I would have to give him the worst punishment possible. I dunno what they do in detention these days, but he would have to clean toilets or gym mats after wrestling and get the parents involved and issue an apology. He will be ashamed by then I hope.
Lmaoo the last time I was in my teens, my uncles ex wife did that, my mom went bat shit crazy on her and I was just busy calming down my mom.
Now I would probably also get pretty mad and stand up for myself.

The male teacher was restricted from physically retaliating because 1) he was a teacher and she was a student, 2) she was a girl, and 3) he would have lost his job and possibly been prosecuted for assaulting a female student.
If I was in those circumstances, I would have found a way to retaliate. Get her suspended with assault on her permanent record, or at least kicked out of the class.
Yup, it is one of the most disgusting things you can do. There are also other really demeaning disgusting things people do to other human beings. But spitting is definitely up there. I mean; good on the gym teacher for showing that guy what class looks like.

Spitting on someone is actual chargeable assault. You can reasonably defend yourself against assault. I'd even go as far as to argue that with all the diseases out there today that are transferable through saliva that you could say that you were in fear for your life and be taken seriously.
Nothing new in my world I’m a school social worker I’ve literally had a student lock his teeth into me, throw buckets of water on me and the BT while trying to get the class evacuated to start a hold they also created a shank to try to kill us was the exact words.
Don't even have to guess. There has only ever been one bitch that has ever spat on me... and I literally knocked her her front teeth out and no I didn't go to jail for it nore do I feel bad about it. Assault with bodily fluid in most states it is treated the same as some one openly attacking you with their bare hands and in some states it is considered felony assault, you know because Hep and AIDS and Herpes and Covid and all that nasty shit that comes out of there.
Depends on who it is. I've been spat on so many times - that I've lost count. I usually verbally and non verbally say stop - and/or remove myself from the situation if possible.
Yesterday, I dragged the kid into his room and closed the door but that was more me being tired of being kicked and slapped, than being spat on.
Pray that God grant me the strength to exercise restraint and not retaliate. I could honestly see myself busting their jaw or hacking a snot filled loogie right back in their face if I did snap.
First of all I don't want to be in such a situation. I'm not a person who want to get into a physical fight. So I don't know how would I handle such s situation. Probably I'll just walk away.

I would provoke an escalation while spitting back or rubbing attacker's spit on their clothes. I'm 190cm tall, good build asshole, there aren't many man who can compete with me physically. In terms of self-defense it can happen that throat of someone get crushed or neck vertebra breaks
Spitting on someone is one of the most disrespectful things someone can do so Im throwing hands. Depending on who it is of course, if its a woman or a child then Ill control myself but anyone else is getting punched 👊
Knock their fucking teeth out, steal their ID. If I end up getting a disease either from the spit or the blood, I'm coming back for them at home and the story will have a tragic ending.
A WBC protestor spit on me at a funeral when I was a teenager. In retaliation I threw a rock at her (but missed and hit another protester). If someone spits on me now, some really bad things will happen to him or her.
Your teacher didn't want to lose his job just for an idiot. Depends, if I could, then I'd punch them.

As a teacher, I'd do nothing, because it would mean prison time and loss of job.. In public with an adult, spitting on someone is assault, I would defend my self accordingly.
I think I got spit on from the back by a crazy person angry man while I was standing by the train doors. You basically ignore crazy angry people... nothing you can do unless you want a brawl or to get hurt. I went home and took a shower asap and threw my clothes in the laundry porbably.
Absolutely breaking their nose along with every other bone in their body to me spitting on someone is like one of the most disgusting things I could never have that restrain.
