My question is, can you stay alive for a few seconds after the head is removed?

There's evidence- not proof, but evidence- that consciousness continues for a few seconds after decapitation, if it's quick enough (and, obviously, if you're conscious at the time). Unfortunately, those who know can't communicate it, and then die shortly thereafter, so...

Friend of mine who is surgeon told me after decapitation brain will have enough oxygen for 2-3 minutes, but due shock of massive blood loose the head loses consciousness very likely instantly. He told me, while eating peanuts that Nazis who used Guillotines sometime to execute culprits asked them if they could blink with their eyes if they feel any pain and lot of decapitated people blinked like crazy a few minutes long after decapitation.
I think hydro static shock in brain tissue caused by a hyper sonic 5.56x45 is better solution to go into afterlife.

It's called a guillotine and I think the person die instantly (if well made if not it doesn't cut the head directly and the person does stay a bit alive)
if the body of the person move it's just the nerve working but the person is actually dead.

There’s documentation of an experiment where someone was told to blink or move however they were able to after getting their head cut off in a gillatine guilatine guillatine guillotine, and he was able to move around for a while, I don’t remember if it was five minutes, but my gut says I remember that it was five minutes
