Yes, there are mean people everywhere in life.
This is what I tell my daughters. Don't ever run from anything negative. Run TOWARDS the positive. Running from the negative without fixing the situation feels like the negative people win and they took something from you.
It's a balance. Leaving toxic relationships is also something that is sometimes necessary to be able to move forward.
Of course I'm not telling you what to do.
You have to choose the best way forward for you.
I hate to see you run off because of bullies.
