Who do you go out of your way to be nice to?

I'm nice to everyone, but tend to be a little nicer to women.

I'm an uber driver and there is this thing called reserved rides where a passenger pays extra to lock in a guaranteed ride at a specific time and us drivers take it ahead of time for the higher pay. We can cancel up to an hour before the ride is scheduled without penalty to us. These rides tend to happen very early in the morning when there are less drivers on the road so people book these rides to not miss early flights.

I've had times where I've accepted reserved rides early in the day only to get close to the time where I have to decide to keep the ride or cancel within the cancellation window when I am feeling tired. Many times if I on the fence of cancelling or not I am less likely to cancel on a woman than a man.

Though I would never admit any of these to a passenger, there are reasons I am less likely to cancel on a woman over a man. First, that early in the morning women tend to be kinder and more likely to talk vs. the awkward silence rides. I HATE silent rides because I cannot gauge a passenger's mood as well and the music I play in my car tends to be based on the mood I perceive a passenger to be in. Second, women overall tend to be better tippers in my experience and this is especially true early in the morning. Third, I know the horror stories of women getting in bad Ubers so there is some protective element to it because I know during the time she is riding with me she is safe from a creep. Finally, if I've had a rough night sometimes a little eye candy and a pleasant voice can brighten my mood.

I'm typically nice and I go out of my way for the people I like or relate to.. Especially if I feel like they're feeling down or people are giving them a hard time... I try to even the mark...

If someone's really clearly having a down day, I try to give them support. Sometimes this means trying to make them laugh, other times it's just trying to "give off" supportive vibes.

I'm usually more apt to be nicer to older people, usually older women. But this kinda goes out the window if they're crotchety - usually being nice to crotchety old people gets you insulted, lol!

To anyone who doesn't seem to have hate towards me. I mean sometimes people tell others when they hate me (even if I don't know them) and others show. Or I'm nice to people who I really like. Even yet... if I'm in a good mood and really happy, I go out of my way to be nice to anyone in my path.

I try to be nice to everyone so that I don’t have to go out of my way but there are days when I just don’t like anyone and usually then I have to go out of my way for people in real life. But that is like my bosses girls that I know I am close to and don't want to just piss them off.

I think I do try a bit extra hard when it’s the people who are largely unappreciated, people like store clerks, delivery drivers, janitors, etc. I try to show interest in them and make sure they know that somebody appreciates them and the work they do.

I guess you could say "people broken down on the side of the road." I help change tires a couple times a month and occasionally do some minor repair work if I can to get people back on the road.
