Okay, I can see how it could look like a movie projector case. I actually forgot what they looked like

My first guess is sewing machine. Slide projector was my second guess before I scrolled down and saw that it's not. There are probably a lot of things that come in similar cases though.

I've actually used a sewing machine before, but only long enough to see how it works. I can do small repairs by hand with needle and thread. People didn't used to throw everything away like they do now. We fixed them. So I can sew on buttons, put on patches, fix small tears, etc.

By the way, I have a sewing machine that I've never used, and two slide projectors.

A sewing machine is my first guess, though, yes, several types of projectors, from movie projectors to "slide strip" projectors also came in similar cases, and I'm sure some other more arcane equipment could come in a similar case.

Thank you for the MHO. However, looking at it from certain angles, I cheated. I saved the picture. Googled "Image search and clicked "Visit," and read the comments. There was a photo of the fabulous 1950s and lots of comments said it was a sewing machine, a Singer, or a Singer sewing machine.
