No I have never ever been so, in fact me and my mate would go down to mcdonalds around 3am cause why not. And I would and have done that by myself easy. At that time of night the only people who are out is people getting food which we all tend to be friendly to each other about.
Like in blackpool for example a girl just came out a club to get some food from the takeaway nearby by herself me and my mate were in there getting some to before we would go to the beach and have a nice sit down while eating this was around 2am I think. She just started talking to us casually even though she had no idea who we were.
And you'll find people like that all the time. Night time is the best.
In Australia , its not an issue , it may be somewhere but certainly no problem in any of my areas. When in the USA they were always saying to me " You caantt do that on your own Dave " ( referring to walking places ) I still always did , nothing happened , its how we have always lived here , its good.
If I were female? Well , it should be the same , but honestly , probably its not.
I also walked extensively in Bangkok at this time , the only issue in Thailand at times on your own is the dogs at night , but in Bangkok there are always people about , not so much in Hua Hin , so there I was worried about Dogs.
I used to work at a liquor store that closed at 2am. In a really busy but also really shitty part of the city. I would either walk 10 minutes down the road to a bar and catch a cab or I would walk the 45 minutes home all depended on my mood and how tired was. If I took a cab home I would proceed to take my dog for an hour long walk. Even now I take him for a walk early mornings; especially since we’re in the midst of a heatwave and nighttime is really the only safe time to walk him.
If in Vegas? No. Anywhere else, yes. I live near the woods and we’ve had sightings of a black cougar or panther walking the area in broad daylight. No thanks

I had a similar conversation with this hitchhiker the other day.
They said it was a bit dark and scary in the woods at 1am.
i said, you are not the one having to walk back on their own.
Around here is rural, so apart from angry badgers, dodgy foxes having raves, it’s fairly quiet.
it is at time very creepy though
Yes and no you see my threat is much different than most people's I live in the mountains and have mountain lions and coyotes walking through my property within 10 feet of my door! So if I have to go out you turn on all the lights make lots of noise and carry a gun.
I would be afraid because we have wild coyotes in our backyard and not having anyone with me would scare me even more. I’m not scared of the dark, but wild animals are what scare me. If I had a gun or a rifle with me, I’d be much safer knowing I have something to keep me safe.
In my neighborhood, that would be fine, no problem, very safe. I've been in some places though where I would never do that... some places are even dangerous walking in crowds in the middle of the day.
Crowds can be and often are far more dangerous than empty streets.
I live in a pretty rural area so i feel relatively safe. We have had some B&Es in the neighborhood however.
If I still lived in the city where I did when I first got married I would be a little more cautious about it.
Where I live? A little spooked, just because of the wild animals, there’s a forest behind my side of the street. I hear the coyotes out there at night, I wouldn’t want to run into them.
Literally started howling out there now, two minutes after posting this😂
Exactly i live on a street with horse ranches, crazy military dudes, wildass firefighters, a loose panther, suicidal deer and a bunch of longass snakes. I’m not going out there at night. The panther be chirping like a bird
@DizzyDesii Loose panthers and long snakes are WAY too real for this city boy😂 I’m just in a woodsy suburb too, this isn’t even the real boonies, lmao. I used to live out in a more rural area though, and right before I moved I saw the silhouette of a bear running across the road coming off of MY street, I was still like three blocks away. I was like “YUP, definitely time to move back closer to home, I am NOT built for this”😂
Lol i’m in a woodsy suburbs too but there are woods across from all the houses and the houses share the same road as horse ranches and snakes like horses. I’m not so far out to where we can plant crops lmao
@DizzyDesii yeah, the place that had the bear was a suburb of a very small city/large town, and anything past that, there were farms and stuff. Blew my mind when I met an actual farmer, they never seemed like a real thing to me, or maybe from a bygone era. I guess all the produce has to come from somewhere, but I just was never exposed to anything like that as a kid.
Not in the least. My community is as safe as you'll ever get. Even so, watch out for alligators coming out of the lake!
If you're a dude and know how to defend yourself, I don't even think about it. If I'm in a bad area, I just keep my head on a swivel.
I totally get it if you're a women though! I wouldn't want to.
No, not at all. I'm neither afraid of the dark, nor do I live in the United States where there are so many criminals on the streets.
The farther from cities the better!
No problem here. I walked plenty of times at those hours trough half city and nothing ever happened.
I often walked for 30 mins or more during the night, as busses/subway/metro/... would no longer drive at this time and i had to go home somehow.
I feel safe. The only thing I'd be afraid of are spiders.
It's stupidity not bravery lol. That's unsafe so why would I do that?
Where I live? Nope, long as I have a light to see by
Never. Not even if I was female. Women in America can carry guns too, right?
@mcheetah anyone who does not have a criminal or mental health history can get one. It’s not that hard, just make good life choices and stay out of trouble. I love helping women pick out guns at the store where I work, it’s heartwarming to see women take their right to safety and security into their own hands. In America, women have the right and freedom not to have to be afraid or dependent on someone else’s protection like they do most other places.
yeah lol I live in the city and things go down all the time✌️
I will walk out at night by myself no problem. I refuse to be scared of my neighbors, if they want to kill me then I will fight till my last breath.
I used to work in a ghetto area in Atlanta. I’d sometimes take our junkyard German Shepherd out for a walk late at night.
In my neighborhood yes I feel safe. And the police are very good
Where I live way out in the boonies I'm safe.
I will probably be the most dangerous fat man on the street at 1 a. m.
Hell no. People are usually the ones afraid of me.
I live out in the country so the only thing to fear would be animals, but they are more afraid of us
You ever heard of being at wrong place at wrong time?
Desi, I knew you are going to come up with something. 🙂
it's fine where I live. In some parts of the city, that would be a big nope though.
No, not at all. I love walking around at night.
Yes. There are some weirdos not too far from my house.
Yes I would. Nothing good happens at that time.
Yes, I won't do that
I live in a safe place
I'm completely safe
No I do do that
Yup, San Diego is safe
no****
Depends on the area
depends where
Not one bit.
Nope.
