"You reap what you sow." - I mean there no truer statement. If you're the type of person that thinks the world is against you, then in reality its just you against the world and more you fight against it, the more it will fight back.

I think that because "it will be what it will be", you just got to accept it and move on, around or over it, but do not try to fight it or change because, "It is what it is".

At the end of the day "you have to take responsibility for you failures, before you can own your successes." Life is just like that but "happiness is a state of mind if you can find it."

Not sure if those last count ad common phrases but I know I heard them from some where and they stuck with me.

All of the examples you shared are cliches, which i don’t much like. They’re too often lazy means of appearing clever. But they’re essentially thoughtless former witticisms. Give me a classic axiom delivered through a thought provoking quote any day, and twice on my birthday!
I don’t have sources directly in front of me. Even if i did, many cite old quotes very differently and there’s often some debate about who said what first. So accept the following as more or less paraphrased.
“It is a good practice in all things to occasionally hang a question mark on things we’ve long held true.”
“A wise man will sit silently appearing to be a fool while the fool opens his mouth and proves it.”
