It happens to me on every social media platform I've ever used.
There does not appear to be a way to prevent it. The porn industry and prostitutes make so much money they can afford to open a new account every day even if they get banned every day. There are actually so many porn models and prostitutes on Match and Harmony that I've only ever managed to have ONE full length conversation with a woman who wasn't a porn model or prostitute. All of the other accounts listed as near me are actually prostitutes who live in Las Vegas.

  I tried just treating them like normal human beings, and even asked a few of them on a decent "date" and they refuse, because all they want is money one way or another They aren't even interested in finding anything resembling a normal relationship, and some of them will even say so. They're like, "Why would I want a boyfriend when I get to fuck a different man every day?"
