Satan is NOT God's opposite. He's a created being - a fallen angel. He has none of the characteristics of God. He's not all knowing (omniscient). He cannot be everywhere (omnipresent). And he's definitely NOT all powerful (omnipotent).

Satan is called the "Father of Lies". (Hmmmm... something similar to the ways Democrats seem to operate.) Satan DID enter the snake and tempt Eve with lies in the garden of Eden. He tempted God to provoke Job into denying Him by using multiple tribulations against Job. He (Satan) tempted Jesus with all the world's power if He just worshipped Satan.

God has already planned Satan's demise and he and his fallen angels already know that it will happen. He just doesn't know when.

For those of you denying God and Satan exist, Satan has already convinced you of that lie. While some of you may deny God even exists, Satan and his demons do NOT. They KNOW quite well about God and they have an extreme fear of Him because of the punishment God has already made against them. The unfortunate thing is, those who deny God will receive the same punishment that was designed for Satan and his angels (not for humans). If the demons fear that punishment, how much MORE should we?

well i'm neither a christian, nor a satanist. nor am i following any particular religion. that said: if you look at the biblical story, then it is very obvious to me that god is the evil one. i mean just look at their deeds at face value. satan is correcting people who behaved badly during their life. he's basically serving redemption to those who've been wronged. meanwhile god just creates life on a whim, giving them the "choice" to not be how he wanted them to be and then decides to commence a global holocaust (great flood) just cause they ended up not turning out quite how he would like it, which is exactly how he set it up to be in the first place. so yeah. to me, god is the true evil in this story.

Yes, Satan is good. No, God doesn't "make us believe" otherwise; God is neither that stupid nor that schizophrenic. I don't know how many times I have to say this, but SATAN IS NOT AHRIMAN. He's a lot closer to say, Yoda. Satan's purpose is to confront people and force them to admit the truth of what they are and what they desire. It's often somewhat antagonistic, but that's only because people are so good at lying to themselves.

In the Bible, Satan only shows up three times: when he's tempting Joshua to see if he's fit to lead Israel, when he's pushing Job to test his mettle, and when he's tempting Jesus to see if He'll break under the strain of hunger, fatigue, and lust for power. That's it.

He's the friend who holds up the mirror when you can't bear to look in it and compels your gaze. Rough, perhaps, but not the least bit evil.

If you've read the book, Satan in multiple instances has deliberately tried to influence "supremacy."

With Adam and Eve, he told them they would be like God if they ate the forbidden fruit, tapping into their selfish desire of wanting power. You see this selfishness manifest when God confronts them, and both Adam and Eve try to cover their asses by blaming each other, or blaming the serpent (which Satan---a supposed "good guy"---was using as a disguise, by the way) for what THEY did themselves.

Later, Satan tried to tempt Jesus Christ by offering him kingdoms to rule over if he but kneels before him in worship. What a classy guy.

And even *IF* God hoodwinked us into falsely believing that Satan is the villain... wtf did Satan ever do for mankind that was in ANY WAY selfless compared to what God did? He has done nothing but encourage chaos.

If YOU had read the book, you'd know that Satan had nothing to do with what happened in Eden. That was just a snake. Nor was it appeal to "selfish desires", it was pointed out that GOD LIED. Adam and Eve did not "surely die" the day they ate the fruit; they lived for centuries afterwards.

I get why you'd think that, but they were PERFECT beings in Eden.

Meaning they were to live forever, right? After eating the fruit, they were cursed to imperfection. Meaning they would start to age, and eventually they DID die. So God didn't lie. Also it's worth noting that they were tempted to eat the fruit because of the idea of being "like God," despite the fact that as God created man, he explicitly said "Let us make man in our likeness."

Being *perfect beings* comes with the knowledge of right and wrong. They knew they fked up. And we can't just dismiss the snake like it was nothing unusual. Snakes don't talk!
