What you mean like a group of demons to follow you around that try persuade you to sin? That’s really the entire concept. You can’t sell your soul because it’s not yours to barter with. All you can do is turn your back on God and sink deeper and deeper into misery as your problems compound. There are evil people that will offer you worldly possessions to turn away from God. They will tell you do do evil things, and in return they will give you what you think you want at the time. Then they will use those evil things you did to blackmail you and control you to force you to do more evil things for them. In the end all you did is enslave yourself into a power hierarchy of other sinners that just want you under their thumb.

Well yeah that's kinda the point?
The philosophy behind of the character and yes I do say character, is he challenges that humans are inherently self serving and is determined to prove that to god hence why he tempts those to partake in his gifts and leave god behind for what he can give instead.
Same way he also taunts that if god didn't bless people they wouldn't worship him.
This is a key character point for his arching story in the bible if you choose those events and interpretations.

I'm sure he can put things before them to tempt them, and maybe put it into their head what to do to get wealth. He can do whatever it takes to get someone to ignore God and go with the money. But as it says:

Matthew 6:24:
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Mark 8:26

"For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?"

Absolutely. History shows the finer things in life tend to be in the possession of those we consider to be a bit dodgy. Most good people had short miserable lives and lived and died in poverty. It was the evil people who lived in luxury.
