It seems like you're reducing who this guy would choose down to really simple, steryotypical terms.

I think it depends on this guys relationship/feelings towards that particular 40 year old, vs his relationship/feelings for that particular 'younger woman'. BUt it's not going to have anything to do with kids (since he doesn't want any).

So what you're essentially asking is: "would a 40 year old man be interested in a 40 year old woman or would he want someone younger".

The answer, again, is: depends on the particulars. But if the guy is looking for a relationship, then age will act in your favor.

Personally, I'm looking for a relationship with someone "around my age". That doesn't mean that I couldn't possibly meet some 25 year-old who I click with extraordinarily well, and choose her over a woman my age. That's possible. But that's certainly not the age-range that I'm LOOKING for.

If this is an abstract question (like there is no actual younger woman you're worried about, but 'younger women generally). THen the answer is definitely "Don't worry".

Guys your age, aren't going to "skip over" women their own age seeking someone younger.

Occasionally you'll find some guy our age who's all about girls in their early 20's. But that's rare, and everyone thinks it's a little creepy.

I think you ought not worry about this. If there's a 40 year old man who seems interested in you, don't give a thought to "younger women". That's not what he's thinking about. 🙂

Not necessarily. I met my future wife when I was forty. She's 2.5 years younger, so basically the same age. We got married two years later.

We had both lived full lives before we met. I never had any interest in kids. I didn't want the responsibility.

After we got married, she had two miscarriages and we decided that we were okay not having kids. She has maternal instincts and would have loved being a mom. But, years later, she told me that she was glad that we didn't have any kids. We're very happy.

I’m 43 and my very attractive fiancé is 43. We each are divorced with two kids and we’d both like to have more but also aren’t needing more. Younger women like him. He’s sexy and fun and has a good career. He is content to spend life with me and my kids, without having more of his own, because he thinks we get along. And he thinks that’s very rare to find. So apparently, that’s enough.

Also I take good care of myself, and I’m still light hearted and open to life. I’ve met many men my age who are into women their age. The ones who take care of themselves and are still fun. In a mature and responsible way I mean. Not partyers.

Yeah a lot of men would do that if they can (because they are beautiful or rich). Nothing to do with kids, just because they find younger people more attractive, that is also why many people cheat when they get to middle age.
