I just think that there are some very sad, very lonely people out there who are mentally ill. In the real world, these people could never get anyone to believe their lie or their fantasy life that they have created for themselves, because people can see them with their own eyes and realize it’s not true! But here, online, where we have a modicum of anonymity… Those very lonely, very sad people with mental illness, find a place where they can live out their fantasy existence, largely unchallenged! Whether that is a successful businessman, or a woman with a boyfriend who is so completely and totally devoted to her he would do anything for her, a young man who has “lots of friends“ and is dating the head cheerleader (who’s a given to win homecoming queen), or a man who wants to live live as a woman, because he’s convinced himself that women have it easier than men! Online, I believe they get to live out those fantasies, again largely unchallenged, and because of their mental illness they’re unaware, that nobody online believes them either! More importantly, that nobody cares! Why do they do it? Who knows they’re sad, lonely, and mentally ill. Only trained professionals understand why the mentally ill do what they do.

I have noticed lots of almost unbelievable stories told on here, most by anons. If it sounds too far-fetched to be true, then it is probably the result of boredom. It also wouldn't surprise me if it was a Tic Tok challenge to who can tell the biggest tale and have people reply as if they believe it's the gospel. Like there was the girl who complained about being infested with giant crabs.

Farmer Dan got into his Toyota 4-by-4 and drove to the neighbouring
ranch and knocked at the door. A young boy, Eddie, aged about 10, opened the
door.

'Is yer Dad home?' Dan demanded.
'No, sir, he ain't,'
Eddie replied. 'He went into town.'

'Well, then,' inquired Dan, 'is yer Mom here?'
'No, sir, she ain't here neither. She went into town with Dad.'

'How about your brother? Is he here?'
'He went with Mom and Dad,' explained Eddie patiently.

Farmer Dan stood there for a few seconds, shifting from one foot to the

all the tools are, if you want to borrow one. Or maybe I could take a
message fer Dad.'

Eddie considered for a moment, 'You would have to talk to Pa about that,'
he finally conceded. 'If it helps you any, I know that Pa charges $600 for

Of course! I have lots of better things to do. Just this morning, for instance, I received a call from the Pentagon asking me to fly to Sri Lanka and solve a little problem for them. Society, the reaction to the Wuhan virus, and the mechanization of communications has left quite a few people lonely, and out in the cold. This is one way to cope with that insecurity. I'm too busy managing a business, three budgets, a home, re-doing what contractors mess up, and still dealing with two kids and 6 grandchildren- all out of state- to worry about making up little stories to attract attention.
