i live in rural washington and as my brother girlfriend was pulling into the drive way the mail jeep (not a personal vehicle again rural) slipped on the ice and hit her car. it's not totaled she's droving hone now but definitely a good 2000$ worth of damage. now she and my brother are dealing with it so it's not really my business but i'm still interested in what happens next.

The police come, do their thing, and declare who was at fault. The Post Office has vehicle insurance, same as anyone else.
Since it is the government that did this I would find a good ambulance chasing attorney and sue the pants off them.
Well its a government vehicle that is self insured so I imagine they should cover the damage
