Honestly, there's just way too many to list, but consistently one of my favourites is spalted maple. Spalting is naturally caused by a tree that is already dead and has begun to decay, and it creates intricate black lines that run through the wood due to a fungus, which can cause colour variations within the patterning as well. Sometimes there can also be flamed maple across an entire piece, or even isolated flamed maple within the intricate pattern of the spalting that can be utterly beautiful. Also, since spalted maple is literally a dead tree, it's environmentally sound to harvest them. The patterns and variations of spalted maple is incredibly varied. Each piece is literally as unique as a fingerprint. Even more so. I encourage you to Google it to see for yourself. If you do, be sure to Google "spalted maple guitar", as some of the most beautiful spalted maple gets used in guitar making. There are some utterly stunning examples. Again, way too many to show.

Firewood for roasting marshmallows. But I would say any reddish wood that would keep a room cool and classy looking. My uncle had a beautiful wooden interior basement before moving into his mansion and I loved it, sometimes spent 4 hours a day there while visiting my cousin in the summer.

I like cedar though it is soft so not good for furniture. Also blackwood, Huon Pine, and Jarra. Australian timbers that are too rare to use now. Redgum too.

I think cedar, because I think I use cedar oil as mosquito repellent. It works better than other bug spray, plus it doesn't feel gross or sticky on you. If it's not cedar oil, it's whatever one I use
