Yes. It's the appropriate thing to do. There are far too many unwanted kittens and puppies in this world. A single female cat can have upwards of 18 kittens a year, then those kittens can have kittens and so on and so on. A cat can be a great great grandma before it's even 2 years old. A single cat and her offspring can produce up to 400k cats. Dogs can have up to 30 litters in their lifetime with an average of 5-6 puppies so 150-180 puppies per female.

My current animals are spayed and neutered. My next dog will remain intact until he is fully mature. And if there’s no concerns with his behaviours I will probably keep him intact. If I choose to alter him I’ll probably look into vasectomy over traditional neuter. And if I do choose vasectomy I can get that done while he’s still young and he won’t be deprived of those crucial hormones to help him grow.

With males it can cut down on how aggressive they are cause they will go about with the intention and feeling of needing to breed.

And with a females it can lead to the constant risk of unwanted pregnancies and you'd have to brace for the periods too.

Just cut the hassle and neuter or spade them at worst you can ask to get them a novicane shot if your that scared about them in pain.

I haven't yet, my dogs about a year and a half old, I need to tho to see if it calms him down at all, he's a handful and just wants to hump female dogs, so I wouldn't take him to a dog park right now.

Every pet I ever had as a kid came neutered except for this one cat that ran off after taking her to the vet after finding her as a kid.
