Brains require a lot of energy and nutrients that some animals just don’t receive. Brain size is also relative to body size. Animals also show intelligence in different ways. Elephants can remember migration routes and where to find water in droughts. They also have rich emotional lives and mourn the lost. Orca whales are the same they remember hunting grounds, migration routes and have incredibly complex languages as emotional intelligence.


Its hypothesized that humans wouldn’t be as intelligent as we are or have as developed brains as we do (and that’s stretching it considering we had people eating tide pods at one point) if early human ancestors hadn’t eaten clams and fish but because they did we were give access to other nutrients we otherwise wouldn’t have had before.

The characteristics of all mammals are different, and their brains are all wired differently. Some mammals are actually quite intelligent.

Intelligence requires learning. People who read tend to be more intelligent because they are feeding their minds information. Because not all humans read or learn new information, there may be some animals that are more intelligent than some people.

A lot of people are always saying how they find reading or learning a waste of time, and then someone tells them they're less intelligent, they get mad! How much sense does this make? lol.

Intellect requires a lot of energy, as in lots of food.

So its generally an evolutionairy disadvantage.

But us humans had no other evolutionairy trait but intellect and the ability to use our thumbs, so we bundled together, and invented tools (e. g. to make up for missing claws) and language that is capable of transfering more infos besides "good food here" and "attention! lion there".

Because some of our primate ancestors got parts of DNA from aliens, some more other less.
