She was a bad ass. She remained in great shape even when she got older.
She also made a lifelong name for herself and kept going strong after leaving Ike. That guy abused himself to death.

I didn't have any of her albums, but I liked some of her music and she put on great performances. She had a fiery stage presence.
My favorite song or hers is Proud Mary. Damn!

I love her music and have seen her interviewed a few times. She always came across as sincere and kind.

I never liked her. That's an understatement. I couldn't stand her. She made me want to puke. She is one of the most over-rated musicians out there. I generally like the type of music she did, just not her.

I always confused her with Whitney Houston whenever I heard her. Proud Mary is the first song I heard from her that I always called Rolling on a river.
