I watched a news video that was probably 15 years old. Tata Motors (of India) was planning on making a car that would sell for slightly under $4,000. It was a new, no-frills car that just works. You had to manually roll the windows down. These two geniuses said that no American would ever buy a new car under $20,000.

I look around and I see people walking, riding gas scooters, electric scooters and the bus. I'm sure they would never drop that kind of coin on a new car! lol

Oh, and Cherry Motors of China is also not allowed to dump cheap cars in America.

Americans are hoping for more expensive cars.

There is a limit to how low the price can be while meeting current US safety standards, and they change as new systems become available. Air bags have been required for many years. Now back-up cameras are required on new vehicles. Soon an automatic braking system will be required. So I'm skeptical that any new car in the US could be sold for under about $10,000. Still it's a bargain compared with car prices from 50 or 100 years ago.

Would I? Very unlikely unless it were collectible and restorable and I had the money to restore it. There's no way I would drive a new car that was priced at $4,000.

People all want power windows, TV monitors, heated seats and other things that Detroit shoves down your throat. The problem I have is that you have to pay for all that stuff. Next they want a monitor so you don't accidently forget to take your kid with you. , I imagine there would be a big demanded for a basic vehicle that gets you from point A to point B.

The reason why they don't allow Indian and Chinese cars into the market, is because of the government. I wanted to buy truck with a manual transmission, no air conditioner, manual transfer case, no power windows, no TV monitor and no air bags. All these things should be offered as options. You could make a good truck for about 30 K if all the automated stuff was not forced on the consumer.

I have a newer car, and I'm glad it doesn't have electric windows. But they should offer the truck you want. You should make it your hobby to go to dealers and ask for it. When they say they don't have it, walk away.

Those wars were so stupid. The rich getting richer, and young guys coming back with no legs. Just wait, Biden promised no American boots on the ground in Ukraine. But he lies about everything. And some sources I believe in say the draft will come back. It's because it would have to be a ground war with Russia. The "good guys" are mixed with the bad guys, so dropping bombs won't work.

I wouldn't buy a car from India. I would rather buy a cheap secondhand car built in Europe. Those cheap Indian models are basically metal coffins. If you have an accident it's just simpler to bury the car with you in it.
