I watched a news video that was probably 15 years old. Tata Motors (of India) was planning on making a car that would sell for slightly under $4,000. It was a new, no-frills car that just works. You had to manually roll the windows down. These two geniuses said that no American would ever buy a new car under $20,000.
I look around and I see people walking, riding gas scooters, electric scooters and the bus. I'm sure they would never drop that kind of coin on a new car! lol
Oh, and Cherry Motors of China is also not allowed to dump cheap cars in America.
Americans are hoping for more expensive cars.
