Once when I was around 8, we were coming back home from softball and right before we stepped in the door, I felt a really sharp pain right under my armpit (pretty much where my sideboob fat is now) and I screamed so bad and when my mom checked what it was, she saw a bee. I never saw the bee and we never found the stinger, so I don't know what happened with that. I was supposed to spend the night at my sister's house that night, but my mom ended up keeping me home just in case. I was a little nervous to be outside for a couple days after that.
Yup by a ground bee and a caterpillar between the two the caterpillar sting was far more painful
I got stung in the face one morning. It was really sore and in the afternoon I asked a paramedic about it. He told me that if it didn't get swollen by now I would be okay. I woke up in the middle of the no=ight and haen I went in the bathroom I could see one eye was swollen shut and half my face was swollen. I was having trouble breathing. I called my doctor and he wanted to meet me in his office. He gave me a cortisone shot and after a few mu=inur=tes I started to feel better.

I've been stuck a couple of times. I'm not allergic, so I didn't need a pen. One time was more painful than the other. One was a super adrenaline rush as a result. The funny thing was that the stings took place above my ankle, but the swelling ended up in my thigh a day or so later!
LOL In their defense, both times I invaded their space accidently. I stepped on one without seeing it, and walked through a nest while looking for a golf ball. LOL
It's worth noting that most bees are not aggressive and are solitary creatures. Only about 8% are considered social, and less than 10% of all bees live in hives, with most nesting in old logs, fallen trees, plants and in the ground. There are even some species of wasps that not aggressive and spend most of their day pollinating.
One thing is certain - the food and plant ecosystem would be totally fucked without bees. They are so essential to a healthy ecosystem. Obviously no one likes hornets or yellow jackets very much, but unless they're attacking or invading your living or working space, just let them do their thing!
When I was six, I grabbed a honey bee in my hand and it crawled through my middle fingers in a gap where they pressed against my palm forming a fist, and it flew away. Therefore, when I was nine, because he was afraid to do it, I was showing a boy my age that you can grab a honey bee in you hand and it won't sting you. The bee stung me and it hurt a lot so I have never done that again.
Bees, wasps and countless gnats. Favorite one was being stung in the corner of my mouth after not seeing the wasp on my Coke bottle. My swollen cheek looked like I had been in a fight and I felt dizzy for 15 minutes. Fucking hell.
i got stung by ones as a little kid and had to use a credit card to get the stinger out. the worst was a couple years ago i accidentally stepped on a wasps nest and they stung the shit outta my legs while i was running away.
I just pulled out a stinger from my tricep about an hour ago. Got stung yesterday in the garden, apparently didn't get it all.
Actually I don't have any real reaction to it. Just felt the stinger when i rubbed my arm... was like... this don't belong there. And I knew it was a place I'd already removed all the shrapnel from years ago, so nothing to fester out. Tango Mike (thanks much) though! Good lookin' out.
One time when I was about 7, my brother got the bright idea to take the bucket of soapy water my dad used to wash his truck and dump it over a bumble bee hive. Those bastards took off out of there like fat little bats out of hell and stung him about 5 times, I got stung 2 or 3 times. I told him not to do it and then followed him over there like a dumb ass. I told him not to do it again and he gave it the old heave-ho, and that's when the party started haha
Yes, was a bumble bee that got me around age 8, right on top of my head while Mom was driving, i was in the back seat :( once stung a pheremones released telling the entire hive to follow suit. The queens control is absolute, its a siren song the rest can't resist.
I'm allergic to bees and have been stung on more than 10 occasions, never provoked. I was at a school camp and got stung on the neck. I was riding my motorbike and a bee hit my helmet (I thought it was a tiny rock) and fell down and stung me in my inner thigh while I couldn't stop. Stepped on them accidentally many time because we didn't wear shoes as a kid
Funny, I'm binge watching Brave Wilderness right now! I haven't been stung. I have never been stung so to me they are still adorable miniature flying fluffballs.
Yes, I've been stung a few times, not in many years though, and fortunately, I'm not allergic to bee stings.
Yes, I was stung by a hornet on my knee, and it swelled up like a balloon. Very painful.
Nope and I pray to God I never get stung by one of those things.
not yet, no...
so I still don't know if I am allergic to their toxins... lol
Nope. They often try to drink my sweat though...
When I was walking along the pool, I saw a bee inside. I fished Her out, but poor fellow stung me; maybe She got the wrong idea. After a few minutes of unbearable pain, the bee died. RIP.
I have when I was younger mostly up in North Carolina, they were around when I was on vacation it happened theyβre a lot more aggressive than Miami Bees
Probably around ten throughout my whole life. Never had a reaction.
Of course, when I was a kid I used to be scared going outside because I am allergic to bees/wasps
once or twice, and I try to avoid bees and wasps at all costs. Humming birds do too, as I read that a sting to a hummer is fatal.
Bees, I donβt think so.
Wasps, at least once.
The only time I've been stung was when I caught a bee with my hands as a little kid.
yep first time was 1975 i still have the stringer in my right arm
Bees? No. Certain species of wasps though? Yeah.
Its rare though, only happened a few times.
