Your stuck behind a swan what do you do?

Recently a swan (pictured) caused a large traffic jam in North Wales by going for a slow waddle down a main road. Now I've had a little look on google and it's actually a common occurrence throughout the UK.

These cases usually end up as an amusing story in the local media but what about the very first vehicle stuck behind the swan? No one else can see the bird and so everyone thinks its them.

So what would you do if you were driving the vehicle at the front?

If my father was alive he would stop the car and get out with the burlap bag that he kept for just such an occasion. He would get out and grab the swan and put it in the sack. The swan would be Sunday dinner.

Some UK rivers have signs up telling eastern Europeans not to eat the swans

I seem to remember that all swans belong to the king so sacking and eating a swan would appear treason id guess. Even for Eastern Europeans ;-)

@Andres77 no but once he spotted a group of wild turkeys in the median strip when he was stuck in traffic so he pulled over and got out with the sack and one of those turkeys became dinner

Swans are Lovecraftian creatures. That's why you shouldn't feel bad about them. If you have a bag with you in such a situation, you can put that bag on this swan's head and start kicking the s*** out of that swan. It is important to show your dominance in such a situation. (No, I don't have a personel beef with that creature)

Wait until it finds the way out of the street. Swans can fly but most of them have too fat butts and can start only from water surface.

Really? I'll get out of the bus and pull that swan by it's neck to the side road than get back in and everything is normal again, maybe if there's a place that takes care of such situations, i'll call them to remove this dumb animal from the streets before it gets hurt...
It's funny that none of these people had stepped out to resolve the issue, as if they were enjoying the swan 🤣🤣

I would get out of my vehicle and try to gently encourage the swan to move off the road, or at least to block traffic in the opposite direction.

I would, in fact, offer snacks and invite it inside. I may come to regret my decision if the snacks aren't to his pallet, but at least I can say I drove a swan home.
