A warning to those who live in a place with lots of geese. I live near many ponds (man made along the complexes where I am) and normally the geese don't bother me. The ones by my home are medium sized to smaller Canadian geese. I normally take walks if the weather is nice--and pass by them all the time with no problem. However on Saturday, I walked to a different complex down the road just to make things a little different, and while going into the complex (condos) I noticed some large geese on the grass by some trees at the entrance. I know to steer clear of them, and I did. Then I heard some near behind me, and when I turned around, it appeared that one or two of them were following me. I walked faster, and the honking became louder and when I turned around-again--two very large ones were fighting with each other--wings flapping and so on. One was still following me and di so for awhile, honking--so I began to run quickly to get away, something I read afterwards you shouldn't do. I wasn't attacked--just scared that I might be if I didn't get away--and got to some houses and far enough away from the geese and the one I thought was following me. So when you see a goose who might be guarding her eggs or a nest--and they bob their heads up and down--face them--do not run--and back slowly away. Don't look at them in the eyes either, just be aware of what's behind you until they back away.
Stand, fight, beat the stuffing out of it, then drag its ass to the post office and attempt to mail it back to Canada.
... I'm not going to comment on whether I know that firsthand.
For one I definitely DON'T know firsthand, I'd say "take up falconry, get permission to use golden eagles, and hunt those honkers down"- it DOES work, and it IS legal, but you have to jump through an insane number of hoops to do it, it takes years, and apparently it's "bad form" to laugh maniacally while hunting.

I lived in a neighborhood once with a pond where lots of geese hung out. Occasionally, one would get feisty. We humans learned to give them a wide berth, and if one ever came towards you, just calmly walk away from them... if they don't feel threatened, and you don't try to enter their territory, they leave you alone.
I live in the country, it's not 100% but with all wildlife or domestic animals, is to show no fear, with me if they were to get too close, I turn and face them, or even walk towards the, this applies to cattle, sheep,
