It depends on the genre I think.

More structural jokes will often have some truth because that's what makes it funny, how the truth is presented in a surprising way compared to how we normally see it (like the "what's the deal with?" Jokes, which purposely exaggerate how nonsensical some "truth" of life can seem when you stop to think about it).

Other, more abstract jokes can get humor from revealing purely coincidental or irrelevant "truths" (like the "what do you get when you cross" jokes, it's not any sort of social truth it's just a surprise that if you combine 2 words you can get a 3rd totally unrelated word, for example).

Other, even more abstract jokes can even use truths already known to the audience, and just melt them down to where you recognize something that used to be a "truth" and now it's just nonsense. (Like those "pronouncing things incorrectly" videos, which I find hilarious but one of my friends think is just silly).

Often, when a joke makes us laugh, it's because we understand what it is the joke is about. The spontaneous laughter then can be considered a way to deal with the potential suggested difficulties and events.

By the way, it seems that laughter, originally, in our very far ancestors, derived form crying children, when these at first glance think to detect a potential danger, and immediately thereafter understand the situation is harmless. The crying then turns into what we know as laughter, meaning something like "oh... event not to be taken seriously...".

I wouldn't think so with sex jokes, or things like blond jokes. "Why did the blond drown in the pool?" Because she found a scratch and sniff sticker on the bottom. I suppose a private joke between 2 people could qualify though.

When you can laugh hard at a joke it's usually because it's true and if you don't laugh and see it however it was said then one day you might cry but some of the funniest jokes are the most real jokes and it's because they are true it's okay to laugh at the truth

The moment you declare an absolute like this someone is going to exploit it. I. e. by telling a joke that is 100% lie so you have to accept some part of it that is profitable to them as truth.
