it's the only emotion that would cause you to lose power over yourself
364 opinions shared on Other topic. Fun Fact: Love is among the easiest emotions to just switch off or otherwise mentally short-circuit into a non-functioning state.
It is kinda ironic that people constantly put it on a pedestal and treat it like the strongest emotion when, in fact, it is defensively weak as hell.
I suspect people just don't try to exert control over it enough.
Like a decade or so ago I was madly in love with some girl, but things went rather badly and I was left in a position where I really needed to get over her... so I just decided to try NOT loving her... and... it just worked. Like instantly. I was like "Is that it?" and yeah, that totally was it. Ended up doing it again a few years later. Mind over matter and love just vanished in a puff of logic.
I've tried doing the same with other emotions, but it usually isn't as easy. Happiness dies in a few minutes easily enough if I think about it. Anger takes me a few hours to shut down if I apply myself. And Depression just can't be shut down. Ever. The most I was ever able to do with it was just treat it as background noise.00 Reply

love is like a kitchen knife. it can help you cook a meal if you know what to do with it, or you can hurt yourself or another person if you dont know what it is used for.
use it to cut veggies for a soup is alright. but using it as a toy is dangerous.
love is beautiful, love is painful, love is obbsesive love, love is blinding.
love is also driving. love makes you do things regardless of worldly rules or self health.
it can make you leave your job to go help your partner or family in return.
or it can make you hurt your self and blackmail someone to get them back to you.
it can make you dream of everything you think you would do with your partner.
it can also make you dream of everything you thought you wouldve done with your partner.
in other words, love is dreamy, love is delusional.
love is comforting, love is anxious.
"does he/she still love me?", "she/he still loves me".
love is a need, love is a want.
"i wish i had my girl/boyfriend right now." "well i got a girl/boyfriend so i dont have to worry about it anymore."
in the end, love is safe.
but its also dangerous.00 Reply
+1 yselfishness is the most dangerous emotion... you control a woman yoy do not have feelings because you are so distracted witj your many options but you also cannot let her go. yoy manipulate and control hwr life her family so that she will be under your fingertips. I DO NOT WANT TO BE UNDER HIW CONTROL BECAUSE I DON'T EVEN WANNA BE AN INFLUENCER ANYMORE
i grew up to be a Godly person and i don't easily hate. ever since i was a kid my faith in God is already strong and my personality highly influenced by my faith. i have no romantic feelings for Adam anymore and i do not want him EVER to be my romantic partner01 Reply
Love is just wonderful. But woe betide you if you break up (or have to break up) with someone because you no longer feel anything, but the other one doesn't want to accept that. Unwanted calls are still harmless. Once I hardly dared go out on the street for fear that the guy would be standing somewhere waiting for me. It took the help of two of my cousins to convince the boy of the futility of his behavior.

u +1 yAll emotions summon power and that power can be used for good or for bad. Why would you focus on the danger of love instead of the promise of love?

+1 yNo. Love never hurts. Its usually other emotions diguised as love that hurts. A woman who is afraid for her son tells him not to go play outside. she is ignorant and fearful. So she prevents her kid from growing up healthy and playing like other children outside. She convinces him that this is out of love. But in reality its out of her being lousy, doesn't want to put any effort in creating a safe environment for her kids to play and doesn't give an f so she uses love as an excuse for all the other ill emotions and intentions

Love can be dangerous but for sure not the most, and that's coming from someone who would do anything for someone I love. It's only fringe cases when love is the cause of dangerous stuff.10 ReplyLove is the strongest [emotion] in the world, but second to that is hate [I could be wrong, but I think this may be true]. Hate is the same as love, but it's simply used to do evil and causes evil.
As for being dangerous, no. Love is not dangerous. A person who confuses something evil for love, like utter obsession, is something that is very dangerous.

+1 yThat's an interesting question. Love is an emotion that can make us do things and behave in ways we wouldn't otherwise. We can become very vulnerable, insecure, jealous, possessive, and even obsessive and controlling. This can cause us to lose power over ourselves and make decisions that are not always in our best interest. So yes, it has the potential to be very dangerous.

+1 ylove is definitely the most volatile emotion and it can go either way. it can be an unstoppable force for good or an unstoppable force for evil. all depends on how one views it. all emotions are generally very predictable in outcome. but love is not predictable which is what make it volatile

Love is not a problem actually. It's a solution. Hatred is a much worse and more strong emotion that makes you lose yourself. If you love a wrong person that's a different scenario altogether but love itself conquers all.

You see people doing horrendous things in the name of love but as a Christian I'll say no, love is beautiful and you don't & can't hurt anything you love, never. Those are just egocentric, selfish and self-centered people among other things.

+1 yYes! Love can do/be many things in terms of (love) attraction, chemistry, arousal, desire... But once Denied/Lied/Crushed can turn in to (love) for Hate, judgmental feeling, Jealous, Anger, Despise... so yeah, it is a Dangerous Tool.

True but that also can come from Love (like a switch blade).

Love is sacrificing, commitment, tolerance, self control, understanding, patience, selfless, caring.10 Reply775 opinions shared on Other topic. Yes , it is the most dangerous emotion in the world , not in my case , but how many murders have been committed in terms of love? A plethora..
