I do think so,

It makes us do sacrifices, it risks our own safe existence,

Like a male praying mantis that’s prone to mate with a female,

even though it knows pretty well the female will behead it, it keeps on mating with it,

As creepy as it is, it has been scientifically proven that the headless male mantises mate better and then when the females are done, they feast on it. But they do still mate.

I feel like love in humans is symbolically no different, it leaves you defenseless, on the mercy of another human being, that is basically the top predator of the world and maybe won’t behead you like a praying mantis, but will definitely be able to break your heart given the opportunity.

I feel like it’s the most important to love yourself and love yourself enough that regardless of what happens, you’ll have yourself and your own love and no one will be able to hurt you.

I believe love can be the riskiest affair for sure.


I’ve always seen it as a high-risk/high-reward.


The deeper the love, the more vulnerable you become to your love interest — the more power they have to hurt you.


(e. g. Harsh words from strangers can easily be brushed off. But, harsh words from the ones you love and respect can cut deep. Betrayal from one you trusted hurts so much more than betrayal from one you never trusted.)


The deeper the love, the lower the potential lows but also the higher the potential highs.


It’s like nuclear power in a way. It can be immensely powerful — enough to power an entire city.


But, in the event of a nuclear reactor meltdown, the aftermath can be catastrophic.


I believe that love is worth the risk though.


But, I also believe true love is the most beautiful thing one can experience in life, so I’m a bit biased, haha.

Nahhh not really.
Think of it like petting an alligator. An alligator might not try to bite you if you pet it, but it also might just bite you. No you could just choose not to put any alligators or you can be reasonable and prepare yourself just in case it does try to bite you and cross your fingers it never does.


The guy who doesn’t lose a hand when an alligator tries to bite him is the guy who never forgot that what he’s petting is a freaking alligator that can bite his hand off and will probably try to. The person who does get bit is the person who let down there guard thinking at the alligator would like them, and that’s exactly when the alligator bites them.


Love is the same way. The person who gets their heart broken is the person who gave up on the possibility that it will happen. You can trust somebody completely, and still be prepared for their betrayal, and the people who do that are never gonna get blindsided by it.

Being friends with people leaves you open to manipulation and abuse. Hell share anything about yourself with people in confidence then this becomes the case, this is why people feel a visceral emotional response if said confidant betrays that trust. I'd be careful of falling into cynical views surrounding other people as a result though, something I'm also prone to, getting hurt then generalising about groups of people through the most negative lens possible feels cathartic but it's mostly just an irrational response you'll look back on in the future as being a bit much.

A real couple who truly love each other till death, won't be able to live without each other and will do anything in their power to make each other happy, take care of each other and solve their issues together, after a sacred marriage, god makes the couple one spiritually and physically and they become a real family, which means they are one now, if he hurts her, it means he had hurt himself and vice versa...

It's creepy, AI art generates some disturbing depictions. It's very good at rendering emergent images. Thought it was a cross section of a man on the left. The heart outline is neat. Hadn't considered that it resembled mantises at first.

It is pretty risky. You open yourself up to somebody else. You give them the ability to break your heart and you really do not know how it is all gonna end up. It really scared the crap out of me.
