I stopped watching the news on TV like I did everyday. Why should I run up my electric bill listening to these liars we have for politicians?

I'm sure my electric bill will go down because I had it on a certain news channel all day, everyday. Now my TV is off. There isn't anything good to watch anymore.
I do feel a lot less stressed out, and not so anxiety ridden anymore so there are good things that come out of turning off the political liars on the left. I just couldn't stand it anymore.

I stopped years ago! For that matter, I, pretty much, stopped watching telly back in the early `90's. If I did watch anything, it was either via video tapes that I rented or recorded or channels like HBO where I didn't have to worry much about such bullshit.
When I first got here at my aunt's house 4 years ago, the only shows I'd watch were re-runs from the `60's and `70's, game shows and Fox news shows (Tucker, Laura, Judge Jeanine, Trey Gowdy and Steve (I forget his last name, a British skinhead).) Also Gutfeld, and The Five once they started. Before my first year here was out, we could no longer afford to pay the t. v. bill so, we lost the use of it (except for some religious channel and CNN, OF COURSE!) and I've been without t. v. ever since! Except for the stuff I used to watch 4 years ago, I don't miss it at all!! I have loads of DVD's of my fave shows and run through a few of those every year.

Honestly I stopped watching TV long ago. If I'm in the mood to get news, then I can get it online from sources I trust and that will call out both sides of the aisle. I'm tired of partisan channels only reporting "our side good, their side bad" and this goes for both MSNBC and Fox. Our options at politicians suck this year. We have much younger, talented, people who could be running instead.

Good on you for turning off the TV. It's mindless drivel these days.

I was a faithful viewer of the Fox News Channel. I must say though, they had people from the left on their news everyday. They did get both sides when reporting about politics. In fact, they usually had three screens on at one time; a person from the right, the newscaster, and a person from the right. And each one said what they wanted. I would get so upset at the person on the left telling blantant lies.

They also had a person from the left on the segment The Five everyday and they freely said what they wanted to. I think there was a person from the left on the segment "Outnumbered".
Not long ago CNN tried to do what Fox News Channel was doing. They hired a person from the right to give her opinions, and they fired her after two weeks and didn't replace her. They just couldn't handle it.
Well, YAY for us that we have both unplugged from the drama. 🙂🌹

I used to watch Fox a lot but when they fired Tucker it was like he was like the only person I watched on there LOL. I do like newsmax I watch their YouTube channel or their channel is on the Roku also. I like the X Navy SEAL they have on their Carl Higbee he's pretty cool

TV "died" for me back in 2008 or so.

When the news in Germany reported, that video games are responsible for causing school shootings, I never turned to TVs anymore. It was kind of the first time I watched news on the TV also.

My moron then classmates also treated me like I am a future school shooter.

Anything electric that is on all day has got to use a lot of power. I like to conserve as much energy as possible.
Electricity is very expensive where I live.
I've heard it said that we should unplug appliances when we aren't using them because they still use electricity.
I don't know how true that is but it can't hurt.
Little appliances like the toaster, coffee maker, etc.

Just curious what power costs where you live? Here power when you add all the fees including taxes is close to 24 cents a kilowatt. With out taxes it is just shy of 21 cents.

its easy to figure out. Simply take the total on your bill & divide it by how many kilowatts you used.
