Swing or slide? What would you choose?

That's like asking if I want a ribeye steak or the lobster at my local eatery.
I'll reply by asking for an order of surf and turf, please, and thank you.

As an old fart, though, I'll suggest to other old farts, even not so old farts, to not attempt to jump off of a swing at high altitude just for the fun of doing so.
What was once easy and fun as a kid becomes not so easy or fun as age and mass increases.
I know this to be true from personal experience. 🤪

lol guys are so detached from their younger inner kids 😂😭. They really said swinging Ykwim and swing from ho to ho lmao. I can’t- so far out.

I choose swing though cause as fun as the slide was, it was short lived fun, and mostly work. You climb up just to slide down in seconds. The fun is shorter in time than the climb. If it was longer and higher then yes, I’d go for a slide that had many loops and drops for a long while. Slide has to be lengthier than the height of the ladder.

Swing I can just sit and push in any direction even slightly, and with little energy the momentum and kinetic energy stuff will keep me going for a bit. It’s always a fun work out. The harder you push the higher you go. As compared to the slide you just endure for a set level of pleasure instead of a varied one. The swing varies and is totally dependent on you.

I would even go as far as to say those who enjoy swings enjoy their efforts in life determining their rewards, and those who enjoy the slides are ones who enjoy a thrill of endurance to receive a set yet perhaps reliable reward.

I do also know the reason slides are fun for younger kids is because of the fear of the height and the reward that gets ignited after accomplishing a a daring climb. It’s a small fear factor and it’s also a reward for hard work. Their little brains enjoy that at a young age, but you’ll usually see older kids at the swings. There’s also the idea that the swings are cooler because they’re usually done by kids who KNOW how to swing or OLDER kids. So if anyone gets embarrassed of seeming childlike for using the slide or being ALONE, they’ll want to use the swing to display maturity and feel better about being in the park alone as well.

For those who use slides as teens or young adults I think it’s simply a matter of reminiscing and seeing if the old thing that did the trick before still gives a laugh or moment of fun. A little rebellion factor in it as well for using it and being an adult who shouldn’t use it.
