I work at a nursing home & This one girl is mad at me bcs I don’t get her person dressed. Tht person is not on my list to get dress idc if she got up. So NOW the girl & her friend are at work telling my other co-workers that I stink & I have unprotected sex with multiple people. Now would it be wrong for me to confront them and be like "I like how you talk about a problem to other people but don't address the problem. Then your friend want to sit here & claim I have unprotected sex with other people & I've NEVER told you that. That's very sloppy of y'all. y'all grown right? So act like it. And if I hear anything else about y'all being unprofessional in a work setting I WILL be in the ADON office.”
They also complain how I don’t get a person that’s NOT on my list to get dressed & she gets up around the time the morning shift comes in & checks on their rooms. By that time I’ve already changed that patient AND she gets back in the bed she gets up when SHE wants to. And she’s not my get up so as long as she’s DRY THATS NOT MY PROBLEM! I’m still doing my rounds. You see me STILL doing my Rounds when tht patient decides to get up so if you see her shut up and do your job. I want to tell her tht in front of everybody and also “If you don't like it then this is not the job for you go back to cleaning." Because the girl saying I was sleeping with multiple people used to be a janitor. And we used to be cool I don’t talk to her at all but I used to talk to her about what I do outside of work LAST year.
I would tell her LAST year I about how I go on multiple dates different men. Never told her ANYTHING about my sexual life. AND they DID tell my co-workers to "TELL YOUR FRIEND. While talking sht about me so-" I usually hold my tongue but I have been getting mistreated for months now, since l've gotten on this shift. So my patience is kinda up and gone with the wind. Or should I just should I go to my DON about Thats defamation of character and malicious gossip.
What should about this situation in a medical setting? What can I do to show I don’t take disrespect?
Tell that to HR, get corroborating evidence from other coworkers if possible. As for not on your list I’m guessing you’re a CNA or HCA (depending on location)? And I would go over your client list for the day and ask where that name is on your list. You have your own job to do. And your work will reflect the work you do as does hers. I understand asking for help and asking if you could help with something when I did one of my clinicals I often helped the HCAs with other clients that were a 2 person assist because I had already completed my cares for the mornings with my people having already been fed, washed and set on their way out of the facility if they had an outing that day.
