Should I take this as a form disrespect or?

i was supposed to meet a guy tomorrow but something happened and i offered to meet up today at the park just for a short while, he agrees and says he'd like that he just has a few things to sort out but to let him know when i'm ready. (making me believe he will be free when i'm ready?)
closer to the time when i'm almost ready he says that he promised his friend he'd help him get something (showed me some pics etc) and he will be free at 8 (it was 5pm at this point) i only wanted a short amount of his time and i just feel like he could of told me this to begin with and feel messed about. would you consider this a form of disrespect or not?

forgot to mention that he made it sound like he was just rearranging some things, but then tells me he's at his friends, doing unconventional things. not sex.

I think regardless of the situation he’s disrespecting your time by not giving you a specific time and sticking by it. It’s not like you have nothing better to do than wait around for him. I would take his poor attitude as a sign of pettiness and just ignore him. Not worth your time!

it means that i'm thinking of cancelling because of this. how he prioritised his friends over me and rescheduled a more convenient time for him at the last minute when he had all the opportunity to tell me ages ago that he wouldn't be free till later. despite seeing his friendly every, single day.

Oh okay, that makes sense. I do think it was a bit rude for him to make you wait for hours after he acted like he'd be free whenever to meet you today. Today wasn't planned ahead so maybe he'd already told his friends he could hang out. Maybe he didn't want to ditch his friends. I'd say give him a chance and see how things go. If things still seem off or he doesn't seem as interested as you think he should be I'd say find someone who's going to give you the time and attention you deserve

another mature response, i'm very grateful thank you. i appreciate your advice very much. i'm glad you felt it was a bit rude because i sure did. he made it apparent to let him know when i'm ready, then kept hinting he'd see me later, yet when i'm almost ready all of a sudden he won't be free for another 3-4 hours. it's like he knew he wouldn't see me till later but he wanted to either prolong time with his friends or make me wait longer. either way it's kinda rude.. he did apologise because i called him out but... i ain't all that excited to meet up no more lol

To me? It sounds like he is narked that you altered tomorrow's arrangements and this was him trying to get back at you.

I see. Well look I can see you are angry about it, my advice is whatever you choose to do, wait until you have calmed down.
I personally (If I were in your shoes) would ignore the fact it happened but not forget about it. IF it ever happened again I'd mention both times.
I always like to give a 2nd chance.

that's a very mature response and i really appreciate this thank you so much. you're right, i'm angry about it because for a long time in the past he was hot and cold with me and i've never quite felt enough.
i saw progression though slow recently as we reconnected, but then he does certain things that seem inconsiderate. i will probably take some time to myself and let him know that i will message him when i'm ready. i will try my best to not show that anger.

My Aunt has a very good way of dealing with situations when people let her down.
She waits until it is forgotten about, then she will casually throw in to a conversation "I was going to ask you if you wanted to (whatever it might be) but I won't because I need someone reliable. The other person will instantly reply with when have I ever let you down? POW, She brings up all the times in one go without ever raising her voice or showing hurt or anger, but if you're ever on the receiving end of it, you feel guilt like you have never known.. She is remarkable
