What very odd behavior does your pet do or done? Are there any pets you would never have in your home? When/if your kids want a pet what will you say?

Me first: My cat MUST be escorted to his food & water bowls in the morning or else he won't go. It's bizarre! It's like he trained US!! He just meows and darts under your legs nudging you until you walk with him to his food. It's just so OCD and strange!!

I've had cats, dogs, gerbils, hermit crabs & fish. I will NEVER let ANY bird in my house except the Thanksgiving turkey!! HBU?

My pet is boringly normal 🤷🏽‍♂️

My pet acts like he's just snorted 40 lines of blow 24/7

I used to have two cats. Born from the same mother. The female was very independent, she didn't really care if I stroked her or not. The male was always with me. He would settle in my arms or on my shoulder when he was 2 or 3 months old, or sit on my lap when older. When he was older and heavier and wanted me to pick him up, he'd first look while I was standing next to him, then hook his claws on my jeans and climb up all the way to my waist. Wearing jeans was kind of mandotary when he was around.

We have a dog who has a rock fetish. He has several piles of rocks in the yard. When we go for a walk, he hunts out rocks. He will pick one up and carry it in his mouth but then, if he finds another that he likes too, he has a real conundrum on his paws because he can't take them both. So he has to choose which one. Sometimes if he really likes them both, he will take one and leave the other to pick up on the next walk. Then, he brings the rock home and has to decide which pile to put it in. He will spend hours out in the yard rearranging his rock piles. It's the oddest thing and we have never figured out just what his criteria is for choosing his rocks. But, we leave his rock piles alone! As far as pets go, I just don't want anything in the house that is scaly or has feathers and flys. I would really like to have a pig for a pet. I like pets with some level of intelligence and who interact with us.

I got a fish tank filled with piranhas (kidding). Nah I got a single fish tank and I’m not sure what glofish can do but they have survived over a year.

That's a major feat for a goldfish! A year and not belly up?

@Caroline91 the trick is to NOT over feed them. If you over feed them the uneaten good pollutes the tank.

I also got a catfish who keeps everything clean along with several plants who keep the water oxygenated.

@blueonblack22. I once had a 20 gallon fresh water tank. I had about 20 clown loaches in it and they used to like to get up inside of a ceramic turtle I had for decoration. The turtle was balanced on a rock. There was an earthquake one night and the turtle fell of the rock, trapping all of them in there and they all died. I was so sad! But all of the other fish in the tank were fine at least.

@Caroline91 yeah it only cost my 20 bucks. Got it on craiglist. Came with colored gravel and everything.

But I can have any more than two fish. One glowfish and one catfish. I really wish I could get the glowfish a buddy. But with multiple fish there are usually are more early deaths.

My cats used to just do cat stuff. Catch small animals and leave them on the back deck for my approval, tease the dog that was tied up next door and chase each other around the house.

I used to have a cat that would only let me pet him if we were in an area of the room or house I called an "Official Petting Zone".

My dog used to have her favorite ball by her dish while she ate. If the ball rolled away as she ate, she would stop eating to retrieve it and place the ball back next to the bowl.

@Caroline91 She was already in charge before the boys went to sleep. It was funny. They were both so gentle with her and either of those German Shepherds could have swallowed her whole.

@LiamJHayden Oh, so in charge of a couple of "pups". When I was little we had Tammy, a stray cat we took in, and Timmy, our Boxer-German Shepherd mix. They were inseparable. Whenever Tammy had baby kitties, Timmy would help her clean them. While she was licking one clean, he would pick another one out and lick it clean, except with his big, wide Boxer tongue, the baby would end up whole in his mouth. Then, he would invariably look confused while he very gently unrolled his tongue to spit it out onto the carpet, before chosing his next baby kitty to wash.
